My head leaned back against my pillow as I watched TV. Some rerun of Jersey Shore was on and I’d lost interest. My attention was occupied on my quick fingers, texting Chad. Every time my phone vibrated I got butterflies. I was always let down when the name on my screen didn't portray Chad's.
“when can I see u again.” -Chad
“I’m grounded idk Chad…”
“Come over tonight. I want ur bod.(;”
“ok. Ill make it work sumhow.”
I called out to my mother, “Mom I’m going to Chad’s tonight,”
It was slightly risky just telling her instead of asking. I don't know what my problem was.
An eruption of laughter came form my mom, “Says who?
“Me.” I didn’t stutter as I responded. I had a little bad seed in me today.
“You better text me so I know where you are at Aubrey. Do you understand me?” her stern voice had softened into her loving mother voice.
My body jumped in joy from her answer. I couldn't believe that that was just that easy. I ran off the couch to her spot. Sitting on her lap, I kissed her cheek.
“Thank you thank you thank you!” I laughed as I kissed her cheek. “You’re the best.”
She laughted and hugged me tight, “Don’t do anything stupid Aub. Just play it safe. If its the second night you're spending together....”
I smiled and wandered off to go get ready.

I did a half wave to my mom as I hopped out of the car. The cool air hit me like a truck. My car had been so warm therefor the cold was shocking. I sighed and observed my breath float into the air. I almost ran to Chad’s front door. My suddenly uneasy fingers slowly rang the doorbell.
Within seconds Chad opened the door for me. He was barely clothed. A pair of baggy sweat pants had covered his bottoms and that was it. Chad's right hand held a green apple in it. He looked so cute as he took a bite out of it.
“Hello,” my voice was giggly as I walked inside.
“Hey sexy. You wanna sleepover? I’m busy this weekend so tonight will be it for the next few days,” Chad’s voice was slightly disappointing.
“Yeah that’s fine. Where are you going?” I was curious as to where he would be.
“I’ve got plans with my friends. Tyler, my buddy Kayden, and I are going out to Colorado to go snowboarding.”
“Are the girls going?” my voice was worry-filled.
“Um yeah,” Chad answered me uncomfortable.
Jealously shot through my veins. Great. Just great.
I assumed Chad picked up on my sudden change in emotions.
“Is that okay with you?” he asked with a mouthful of food. I barely made the words out as he chewed.
“Yeah it’s not like you’re mine or anything.” The words seemed to flow out of my mouth-like a river.
I wish I didn’t speak them though. I dropped a huge bomb. I may have liked Chad, but a commitment was out of the question. There was still so much to know….
Taking his last bite, Chad took a step closer to me. “Let me make sure you remember who you belong to tonight.”
His breath felt cool as it crept onto my skin. A ripple of chills washed into my body. I bit my lip nervously.
