~~~~~~Chad’s P.O.V. ~~~~~~~
 The moon hung high, right in the center of the sky. It resembled a giant bowl of milk. Stars were illuminated casting everyone to have a glow on their skin.
Mallory, Tyler, Allison, Kayden, Jacklyn, and I sat in a hot tub, looking up at the ski hills. The sight was beautiful to look at. Light snow was falling so everyone’s hair was covered in a white halo.
“So Reale…. who’s the girl of the week?” Kayden chuckled.
“Nah man, I’m not like that anymore. I’ve got one girl.” I answered and smiled. I liked the sound of that. Having one special girl was all I needed.
“Awe, Chad! Is it that Aubrey girl?” Allison winked at me.
“Aubrey? That’s a cute name. She hot?” Kayden smirked.
Tyler butted in, “Yeah dude. She’s mad hot. Killer body, amazing ass, nice rack. Oh and an amazingly stunning face. I’d totally bone her.”
Splashing Tyler I laughed “shut the fuck up dude!”
“No disrespect to her trust me, but Kayden wow she’s a looker!” Tyler smirked.
“I need to meet her, Chad,” Kayden looked my way with a grin.
“Can we stop discussing Aubrey’s hotness? She’s much more than that. She’s actually beautiful and no you can’t meet her. She’s mine and I’m not sharing,” my voice showed my annoyance.
“Awe,” all the girls smiled.
“That’s so sweet Chadwick!” Mallory teased.
Sighing, I tried to change the subject, “So what do you guys think about the slopes? Pretty knarly huh?”
The whole tub of people broke off into conversations. Tyler and Allison freaked out about the rails, Kayden and Jacklyn talked about how “sick nasty” the jumps are.
“Wanna go somewhere to walk, Chad?” Mallory pulled my attention to her.
“Yeah sure,” I replied. I was happy for an excuse to get out of the hot tub. I just wanted to go upstairs and call Aubrey.
Mallory and I quickly scurried out of the hot tub. My body tingled as I climbed out of the pool. The snow fell on my hot skin, causing a numbness to take over. Frantically looking around for a towel Mallory saved me by tossing me one. Running into the lodge, we failed to let the group know where we were headed.
Making our way to our suite, Mallory and I sat down at the little “kitchen” table.
Resting her head in her hand, Mallory smiled at me.
“What’s up?” I was slightly scared what she would want to talk about.
“I kinda miss us Chad.” Her smile faded.
“I know I do too. It’s just I’m really into Aubrey, Mal.”
“Bros before hoes?” Mallory giggled.
“She’s not a hoe. That’s really not funny Mallory,” My feelings were slightly hurt that she would even dare to make that comment. She wasn’t a good friend if she believed my Aubrey was a hoe.
“Chad stop freaking out. Please. You’re seriously really caught up with this girl. You’re blowing us off. We’re you’re best friends.”
“I thought you were fucking happy for me? Last fucking weekend you fucking told me to tell her everything. You were being encouraging me to fix my relationship with her. So what the hell is up with you putting her the fuck down?” my voice was outraged. I put extra emphasize on my cussing, assuring her of my anger.
“Chad, please don’t get upset with me. Drop the swearing to. It’s not really needed right now. You don’t need to act tough in front of me. I just wanted you to know how we felt. We miss you. A lot.” Mallory reached a sympathetic hand out for me.
“Don’t touch me right now,” jerking my hand away from her touch, I shouted.
“Just make time for us. That’s all I want.”
“I’m really into spending time with Aubrey. It’s really hard trying to make her try and fall for me when I can’t spend time with her. It’s hard enough that I scare her half the time. I’m really trying hard for this girl, Mallory. I don’t think you understand how much I like her,” I was surprised to notice how soft my voice was. I guess that tended to happen when I talked about Aubrey.
“You want Aubrey to fall for you? That’s want you want Chad?” Mallory ran a hand through her blonde hair as she let a deep breath out.
“Yeah I do. That’s exactly what I want. To be honest, I’ve already fallen for her.”
Hearing myself speak the words for the first time sounded crazy. I’ve fallen for a girl. I’m not breaking hearts, sleeping around or anything. I, Chad Reale, have fallen for a girl. Just one girl.
“Chad, I’m saying this because I love and care about you. Aubrey is an amazing girl. She’s beautiful, kind, sweet, cute personality from what I know.”
“There’s going to be a “but” to this isn’t there?” my voice fell down to an upset tone.
“Yeah there is. Want to know?” Mallory’s anger level seemed to keep growing.
I nodded.
“She’s not your type. If this is the girl you honestly are falling for then you need to recheck her. She’s pure. She’s innocent. You’re not. Chad, you’re a bad boy. You’re dark.”
Dark. The word hung in my head. I’m a bad boy. I am dark.
“You okay Chad?”
“Yeah I’m good. “ Sarcasm hung heavy in my voice. Pushing my chair away from the table I stalked off to my room. Slamming the door behind me, I was sure I startled Mallory.
I searched around for my phone. I needed to call and tell Aubrey that I had fallen for her.
Finally succeeding in my search, I found my phone in my coat pocket. My fingers danced across the keyboard, typing her number in. The phone rang, rang, and rang,
