Since tomorrow was Thanksgiving, they had packed their bags to fly to Iowa. They were currently running late and was trying to get to the airport before their plane took off. After dinner last night they were going to pack their bags and go to bed, but they ended up screwing, which lead to them being late.
Colby had just pulled into the airport. They hopped out real fast and went to the trunk to get their luggage. They hurried inside and boarded their plane and took their seats.
Rebecca had traveled a lot in her lifetime. She had came from Ireland to Canada, from Canada to Japan, and of course to America. Colby had also traveled some, but it was just to different states.
Rebecca was looking out the window when Colby rubbed her thigh, making her turn towards him. "I'm excited for you to meet my family. They'll love you."
Rebecca smiled and kissed him. "I'm hoping they do. I'm excited to meet them. Especially your mom, the way you describe her, she's seems like a great person...a great mother too." Rebecca wrapped her arms around one of Colby's, looking like a small child. She looked around at her surroundings, lowering her voice "Do they know you're a murderer?"
He shook his head and kissed her forehead. "I've never told them. Never plan on it to be honest." The assistant had come and Colby asked for drinks, getting them both a sparkling water. He handed Rebecca hers and they decided to watch a movie.
When Colby's arm went numb and he felt Rebecca's breathing slow, he looked down to see her asleep. She's so beautiful. He turned off the movie and placed his jacket over her. "Get some rest love, i'll wake you up when we land." He whispered in her ear.
. . . . .
They landed 2 hours later and were currently driving to his house. "I'm getting nervous now."
Colby reached over and intertwined their hands. "You'll be fine love. I'll be with you the whole time." She looked over at him and he gave her a kiss on the cheek.
He pulled up to his house a few minutes later. Rebecca has never been to Iowa before. She seen how small and cozy it seemed, and she couldn't wait to explore the rest of it. "You ready Becks?"
She nodded and they got out of the car. They held hands as they walked up his driveway. Don't be nervous. It's just his family. He knocked on the door and it swung open a minute later to be met by Holly. "Hey honey!" She had the biggest smile on her face as she pulled him into a hug, and Rebecca couldn't help but smile either. "I have missed you so much!" She kissed his cheek and he stepped back.
He wrapped his arm around Rebecca, "Mom, this is my girlfriend, Rebecca Quin."
"It's so nice to meet you ma'am." Rebecca extended her arm and Holly gladly shook it.
"It's nice to finally meet you sweetheart, and you can call me Holly. My Colby here talks about you every time we call." Holly chuckled when Colby's cheeks turned red. "You're even prettier than i imagined!"
Rebecca blushed. "Thank you for inviting me Holly, i really appreciate it." Holly stepped aside for them to come in the house. The house was beautiful. It wasn't that big but it wasn't small either. When Rebecca seen all of Colby's family it made her feel at home. Colby went inside and introduced her to everyone. Before she had met them she was so nervous, but they all made her feel welcome.
She loved watching Colby interact with everyone. He looked so happy to be home, and it made her heart warm. Between all of the conversations, Colby would make sure she felt comfortable. Coming up to her and whispering in her ear or wrapping his arm around her and giving her a kiss.
They were sat down in the living room and was watching a football game. They had all just got done eating, so they were stuffed. "So Rebecca, Colby told me you love to bake." Holly had been so nice to her since she was introduced to his family. Actually everyone was nice to her. His brother, Brandon had showed her Colby's old bedroom, and laughed at his old toys. Holly had taken her out to her garden and showed her what she had been planting.
"Yeah i have my own bakery back in New York. I started it a few months after i moved there, and it's been great ever since. Hopefully i can bring some treats next time i visit."
"Well that's great. I can't wait to try some. I'm glad your a good baker because Colby can't cook without burning the place down." The whole family had laughed.
"Hey! It was only one time ok?" Brandon slapped him on the shoulder laughing. "It was! I had put the temperature too high and my pizza caught on fire."
The whole family laughed again. "Yeah yeah whatever dude." Brandon was shaking his head as he said it. "Rebecca, don't ever let him cook ok?"
Rebecca smiled down at Colby. "Oh i won't. You can trust me on that."
"Can you tell us about Ireland? I've always wanted to go but i've never been able to." Brandon looked serious, so she knew he wasn't making a joke.
"We'll i grew up in Dublin. Davenport actually reminds me a lot of it because it's a small city. My ma and my da used to take me and my brother Richie on this hiking trail and it has the best view. You could take different trails and they all ended up at a different sightseeing stop. It's so beautiful. There's tons of stuff to explore but that's my favorite memory."
Colby smiled up at her from across the room. He loved how his family had accepted her. Every time he had finished introduced her to them, one of them would tell him how lucky he is. "I'm hoping we can explore some good stuff when me and her go to Ireland."
He really does want to go to Ireland. "That would be a good trip! I would like some pictures though." Holly chuckled and patted Colby's knee.
"Yeah of course! I can't wait to show him." They shared a glanced at each other and at that moment Rebecca knew that even though they were both psychopaths, they were going to be together, forever.
