It had been 7 months since they moved to Iowa. 7 months of living their new life, and so far they were loving it. Rebecca's due date was growing nearer and they were prepared for their baby girl.
Renee had threw Rebecca and Colby a gender reveal and had invited all of Colby's family, and friends, which were just Joe and Jonathan. She even invited Ashley, Leah, and Pam down and they all celebrated. Once they popped the balloons and they saw what their child was going to be, it felt so much more real.
Colby had helped her with everything. If she got up to get something from the kitchen he would follow and end up getting it for her. Every time she ran to the bathroom to puke, he would be right by her side. At 3:00am when she was craving mint chocolate, he would get up and drive to the store to get her some. Rebecca never once got mad at him, because she knew he was just taking care for her.
They even went shopping for the nursery, even though Colby insisted that they had enough. They had spent almost $7,000 on baby clothes, toys, and furniture combined. The nursery ended up looking adorable and Rebecca couldn't wait for their daughter to be here.
Before Rebecca couldn't travel anymore, Colby booked them on a vacation in Hawaii, where they spent a week relaxing and just getting away from everything. One of those days as they were walking down the beach admiring the sunset, Colby got down on a knee and held out a ring. Rebecca's mouth dropped as she cried from excitement and of course hormones. Colby told her she had made him the happiest person alive and couldn't see himself without her in his life. He then popped the question where she immediately answered Yes!
He knew they wouldn't be able to get married for a while, but he just wanted her to know how much he loved her. She loved and admired the ring every day, which made Colby's heart warm.
He had opened the coffee shop back up, and that's were he had been working. Rebecca would work there too, but he wouldn't give her the hard tasks to do. Instead she would just work at the counter at the cash register. He didn't want her to feel left out, but he also didn't want her to be around the machines, so she could get hurt.
They were currently walking around the park, hands intertwined, talking about baby names. Colby was holding her left hand and he kept rubbing her ring. "What about Monroe? I think it's cute."
Rebecca looked up at him as she waddled along with him. "It's a cute name." She looked around at some dogs. "Do you like Nora?"
Colby nodded. "Yeah i think it's cute but it doesn't feel right. I want something small like you do, but i'm not for sure." They walked up to a bench and sat down.
Since Rebecca was so far along, she was getting pretty big. She rested her hands on top of her stomach. "I'm hungry." She looked over at him and smiled.
He shook his head. "Babe, how? You ate 3 hours ago."
"Yeah 3 hours ago. I'm eating for two remember?" They both laughed as she rested her head on his shoulder. They looked around and watched the little kids run around. This is going to be our daughter in a few years.
Rebecca had always wanted to be a mother, and she couldn't wait to be the best mom she was wanting to be. She wanted to teach her daughter the right things, she wanted to show her the world, and she wanted to show her what love looks and feels like.
Rebecca rubbed her stomach smiling. Colby reached over and placed his hand on her stomach. "She was kicking a few minutes ago."
Colby smiled and moved his hand so he could feel the kicks. "She's a strong little thing. Just like her mommy." He leaned down and kissed her stomach before kissing her. They both looked over to a little girl who was jumping up and down having a good time. "Do you see that little girl?" She nodded as they both laughed. "She's jumping around like a kangaroo." He whispered on her stomach.
Rebecca paused. She jumped up real quick scaring the crap out of Colby. "Babe! What's wrong?"
She pushed him back down and laughed. "I'm sorry for scaring you... but i think i just found the perfect name for our baby."
Colby shook his head. "It better not be pole, or green, or a tree!" He said looking around at their surroundings.
Rebecca laughed. "No Colby." She said trying to stop laughing. "What about Roux?"
Colby looked at her and smiled. "Roux? Becks...i love it." He said wrapping his arm around her.
Rebecca smiled and leaned into his touch. "I do too!" She pulled out her phone. "Roux Lopez. I think that sounds perfect."
Colby smiled and kissed her. "I think so too." He leaned down and kissed her stomach again. "Hi Roux."
Rebecca laughed and patted his head. "Can we go eat now? Me and Roux are hungry."
Colby stood up and helped her up. "Yep. Let's go." He intertwined their hands and walked to the car before getting in and driving to a restaurant. He pulled through the drive through, got the food and then they headed home.
He pulled into the driveway and shut off the car. He grabbed the food while Rebecca got out of the car and they walked into the house.
They cuddled up on the couch, after they had changed into comfy clothes. They were watching a football game while they ate. Kevin even cuddled up to them as they enjoyed their evening.
Since they moved to Iowa that's what most of their evenings consisted of. Not getting off of work late, not having to bury bodies all throughout the woods, and most importantly not worrying about getting caught. Moving to Iowa was the best decision they ever made. They had a house, they were engaged, and they were about to have a baby girl. They were loving their new life, and here in a few weeks, it would be a whole lot better.
