It had been a week since Rebecca and Colby's last confrontation. They were still talking over the phone and on text, but they hadn't seen each other—and it was driving them both crazy. They both felt a "connection" with one another, but neither one of them brought it up. Colby ended up getting a job at the library, after a few interviews. He got paid a pretty good amount of money, plus he loved the job.

He would have loved to work with Rebecca, but he didn't know how to bake-and he didn't want anyone else at the bakery to think he just got handed a job for being her friend. Rebecca was a little disappointed he chose to work at the library instead of the bakery, but she didn't want to pressure him into working somewhere he didn't want to work. Plus she was getting into a pickle.

"So they found his body!?" Mercedes whispered loudly at the cafe her, Pam, Ashley, and Rebecca were at. They were out for another hangout. The police found Manny's body washed up in a ditch, and now the whole town knew he was dead. "I know he was into drugs and stuff, but do you really think it was suicidal?"

Rebecca was hoping her emotions were emotionless. She didn't want to kill Manny, but she had to. He was a bad person, and in her eyes, bad people deserve to suffer. "I don't know what to believe. I didn't really know him that well, but whenever you talked about him he seemed nice." Pam had never exactly met him, so Rebecca didn't have to worry about her finding out. "Maybe he was supposed to hand some drugs out and he didn't, so the drug dealers killed him."

Huh. That's actually a good cover up story. Rebecca was thinking of ways to cover it up if she was asked. She had shot him, so maybe the police would think that he did. "Ash are you ok?" Rebecca didn't want to stay quiet too long—they would be asking if she was ok and everything, and Rebecca didn't want to lie anymore. "I know you two broke up, but..."

Ashley drank the last bit of her soda before sitting the glass down. "I mean i'm fine. I'm just wondering what happened to him." Mercedes wrapped her arm around her while Pam patter her knee. "Thanks for being here... I love you three so much."

Rebecca got up and joined in on the hug. When they all got done they gathered their things to leave, but when Rebecca saw two of Colby's friends come in, she became curious. "Hey why don't you guys go on to the car? I really need to use the bathroom."

Pam and Mercedes looked at each other, "Sure." And they walked out of the cafe. Rebecca went up and acted like she was standing in line to get a better look at them. He has to be samoan. When she first saw him, she thought it could have just been the way the sun was directed to them, but in person, he was muscular and tall. She looked over and seen the other guy pulling out his wallet to pay. When they were done they backed away, making Rebecca back up, but when she moved back she tripped over another customer.

She was ready to hit the ground and embarrass her self half to death. Since she had fell in public so many times, she was used to it. She could be turning around and she would find her way to the floor. When she finally opened her eyes she realized she hadn't hit the ground. Instead two sturdy arms were around her, and she looked up to see his, brown glossy eyes. "Hey Rebecca. You ok?" He says chuckling.

Colby sat her back to her feet and smoothed some of her hair out of her face. "Yeah i'm ok. I'm just... clumsy." She moved her hand to grab her phone until she realized it wasn't in her hands. When she looked down she seen it lying on the floor. "I hope that's not broken."

Colby followed her gaze and bent down to pick it up for her. He looked at it then handed it to her. "It's still in good condition." He said smiling. "What are you doing here?"

Rebecca cleaned the phone off and smiled. "Me and my friends are hanging out with each other." As if on cue, Colby's two friends came up behind him.

The samoan look-alike slapped Colby on the shoulder. "Rebecca, these are my good friends, Jonathan and Joe. Boys, this is the lovely Rebecca Quin."

Rebecca blushed at the last part. Joe had stretched his arm out to shake her hand. "It's very nice to meet you Rebecca."

"It's nice to meet you too." Joe smiled and released the hold and Rebecca turned towards Jonathan who had his hand out ready to shake. "It's nice to meet you."

Jon smiled as they shook hands. "Yeah you too." Jonathan winked at her then let her hand go.

Colby gently grabbed Rebecca's shoulder. "Well, it was great seeing you Becks. Hopefully we can hang soon?"

She would have been lying if she said she didn't want to. She had been wanting to hang out with him for a week. "Yeah! Of course. We'll make plans." She smiled big and that made Colby smile. Jonathan and Joe looked at each other and smiled. "You three have fun i need to go meet up with my friends. Very nice to meet you two by the way." Rebecca says hugging Colby goodbye as she leaves the cafe.

Rebecca didn't know what was happening between her and Colby. They definitely had feelings towards each other, but she didn't think they showed that much until today. I can't date him, he's too good for me.

Rebecca's ex had made her feel bad about herself. He would tell her stuff she needed to and didn't need to do. If she even looked at another guy the wrong way, he would yell at her... and sometimes punish her for it.
When they would get home, he would hit her and throw things... and she had to clean up the mess. She was scared to get into another relationship, she didn't want it to end the same way her last one did.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Mercedes shook her shoulder. "Hey you ok? We've been hollering at you for a while." Mercedes brushed some of Rebecca's hair out of her face and patted her cheek. "You ready to go?"

Rebecca smiled, trying not to think of Colby and hugged Mercedes, "Yeah! Let's go!"
