A few hours later, the school day was almost over and Kira was taking the last class. He stared at the clock. Five minutes left? Great... he thought. A book about poems lay in front of him, on his desk. He read out loud : ".... and hatred will succumb."
"Very good, Jonas." the professor praised. The bell rang but he didn't move.
"What's wrong?" asked Kiki, who was sitting next to him.
"Nothing... I just feel like I've read this before." Kira replied.
"Oh. Then, let's go." Kiki smiled warmly.
A month had passed, and Kira had already regained most of his memories. He lied to Kiki and told her that he had only remembered his family and that he had a young sister and a girlfriend. He didn't want to let her know about the murder of Nani and especially not about his powers. So he kept it to himself and decided to leave without notice as soon as he remembered the rest. He already knew that his parents and sister were tragically murdered, but he didn't expect what was to come.
Jethro, Bruno and Jamie were waiting next to the benches.
"Where's Kiki?" Kira panted as he stopped in front of them.
"She's with Mika, AGAIN." Jamie said, looking annoyed.
"Come to think of it, we don't see her after school anymore, do you?" Bruno asked.
"Nop, she gets home at seven each night. She eats really fast and runs to her room. I can hear her giggling into the phone sometimes." Kira shrugged.
The bell rang and Kira and the others dispersed to their different classes.
The school day was as usual as ever. Classes, lunch and after-school activities flew by for Kira. Before he knew it, he was at the house dining on spaghetti and meatballs with Kiki and Marsha.
"Pssst...... Kira!" Kiki whispered. Kira looked at her.
"Meet me outside after dinner." Kira nodded and continued eating his meal.
Kira climbed up the ladder, wondering what was going on. Kiki was sitting on the roof with her head facing upwards.
"What do you want?" Kira asked while sitting next to her. She laid back.
"You see that star?" Kiki said softly (she doesn't have to see to know that there is probably a star somewhere over there). Kira nodded.
"I wonder if it's ever felt lonely up there by itself." she continued, not really thinking if Kira had nodded or not or if he was just silent.
"I doubt it. Look closer, there's about four more stars around it. Although, the one right next to it looks closer to the star, like a couple, maybe?"
"I'm blind, how can I look closer? Anyways, but what if that star faded away and left? You know, the one next to the lonely star?"
"Kiki, we're talking about stars here. It takes centuries for them to vanish. Besides, stars aren't humans." Although neither am I... Kira doubted.
"I know, but still...."
"What happened? Is it Mika related?"
"Well, not just Mika... You know how I've been telling you guys that I'm hanging out with Mika after school everyday?"
"Uh huh."
"Well, I only go out with Mika on Fridays. Every other day I..."
"You..." Kira tried to make her talk.
