KAR-SHA yelled in frustration as he kicked something or other in his submarine. Right now he was too pissed off too care. It had been two whole days since KAR-SHA went out to look for Al-AN. HE had looked everywhere. The crystal caves. The fabricator caves. The frost spires. The creep vine forests. The purple vents. Everywhere! Still no sign of that purple moron! KAR-SHA had even risked his own ass by getting too close for comfort to the areas that Alterra had bases, just to see if the purple fucker was there. Even after that it was nothing! Not even a corpse! Not even a signal! The guy just fucking disappeared. KAR-SHA only had one place left to search. Where warp gate to the space bridge.
KAR-SHA felt an unfamiliar feeling bubble up in his chest. KAR-SHA was always so sure about his decisions, never second guessing himself. He was never one to be scared about anything really. Right now though, he felt anxious. He had never been anxious before. He was scared. Scared that AL-An was dead or stuffed in some lab. Yes, AL-AN did annoy the fuck out of KAR-SHA but KAR-SHA was forever grateful to AL-AN for all the things the guy had done for him. Even if KAR-SHA didn't show it very well. AL-AN had gone to great length for KAR-SHA and KAR-SHA saw AL-AN as a good friend. The thought of AL-AN actually being dead was frightening.
KAR-SHA always saw AL-AN as their not so fearless but brave and strong leader. Even when they all had to be stored in sanctuaries due to the Kharaa KAR-SHA knew damn well that AL-AN wouldn't die. AL-AN always had a way to escape death, no matter what the odds were. The thought of AL-AN being taken down was just surreal to KAR-SHA. KAR-SHA groaned, resting his head in his hands. Time to go look for the purple guy.
KAR-SHA sighed and steered his submarine in the direction of the warp gate. KAR-SHA recalled Robin mentioning that Alterra had an outpost there. Outpost Zero. From how Robin described it, it sounded like a prison or containment of some sort. Who ever was on Outpost Zero was as far as possible from the other posts and had no contact with anyone outside of the outpost. They grew their own food, maintained their own base and had no visitors and couldn't leave. KAR-SHA thought it would be easy to sneak through the outpost. Besides there were only two humans there. How much trouble could two tiny humans be? KAR-SHA was probably almost three times their size, he would have no problem just, taking care of them, if they were to see him. It wouldn't be his first time killing anyways.
KAR-SHA made it to the entrance way to the warp gate. KAR-SHA walked down the narrow path as a thermal lily got a bit to close for comfort. On instinct KAR-SHA smacked it and in doing so burned his hand. KAR-SHA yelped and backed up holding his hand. KAR-SHA growled and glared at the thermal lily before continuing to walk down the path. KAR-SHA looked up at the Alterra outpost as he had made it to a clearing. The base was a bit bigger than most of the bases he had seen but it was nothing much. Most of the back side was covered by snow and ice but it looked to be functioning perfectly fine. On the outside of the base was some exosuits parked, they looked strong but very clunky and was very weirdly shaped.
KAR-SHA needed to get to the other side of the clearing to another thin area that lead to the entrance of the cave the warp gate was in. From the light and heat signatures that were coming from inside the outpost that would be easier said than done. There were two humans in there from what KAR-SHA detected. Yes, of course if they did see him he could easily take care of it but that didn't mean he wanted to. Besides it would raise suspicion if the two people on Outpost Zero suddenly died a brutal death even though there were no dangers in this area, other than the weather of course. The two humans seemed busy enough talking to each other so KAR-SHA took this chance to try and get as fast as possible to the other side of the clearing.
