It was late in the night, it was our turn to have the unusual bonfire. Unlike last time when Bella and I were the outsiders surrounded by wolves this time Jake was surrounded by us. Right now we were all here together. Even Jack had stayed with us for now.
He wasn't gonna leave anytime soon. And perhaps his abilities would throw off Aro and his clan if not by the slightest bit. He promised he wouldn't leave when I needed him the most and right now we needed all the help we could get. I'd gone and wandered off with Jacob to get the firewood and when we came back we put what we had on the pit to form something of a bonfire.
Jacob was excited at first hoping to hear some pre-battle war stories, but then everything went silent. Benjamin had gone and used his fire powers from his element powers to spark the wood, and when he did that's when I jumped back. A bunch of vampires sitting around the fire? Um.... Yeah ok whatever floats our boat I guess.
When I stumbled back Jack was right there to catch me. He put his hands on my shoulders, and I looked back at him, as he leaned down and kissed me. Come sit, you'll be ok. I'd opt to be in my wolf form but probably not best around a bunch of vampires.
Garrett starts the night off. Name any American battle I was there. He says. Jake and I start naming off a couple. Then Kate speaks up, she tells us he didn't win that battle on his own. Then a different family member/family friend speaks up. Liam. He's Irish and he starts talking about the 11 year war. Which Garrett reminds him that he lost but that Liam tells him that it was one heck of a rebellion.
Now that we got the ball rolling that's when Vladimir and Stefan speak up, how they used to have all the power, that they were always honest about who they were didn't bother hiding anything, but that supposedly maybe they should be really thanking Aro and his clan for burning down their castles. Now they had waited 1,500 years to go into this battle.
To the side Bella and Nessie are in their own sperate tent. I love going to the wolves bonfire and I love my family as much as the next person but I can do without the fire. I stepped away wandering off towards the tent, while Renesmee wasn't watching, I transformed into my wolf form. I watched Bella sniff the air. I slunk back, and then shrunk to my dog form.
Mommy look. She pointed at me. Come 'ere puppy she called for me. What are you doing out here all alone little puppy? She coos at me as I trot up to her. What's your name puppy, she says picking at my collar and reading the name Snow. Someone must be missing you puppy. Where's your family? I lick her hand.
She's pretty isn't she? Bella asks her petting a hand down my back. Pull that doggy inside sweetie she must be freezing. IDK maybe we should keep her she seems harmless enough. How would you like your own dog? I yip wagging my tail. Isn't she sweet? You can pet her I bet she won't bite. But remember to be very gentle with the dog. Yeah mom. I know.
You know what she'd really like? Aside from a nice home? Mom she probably already has a nice home. She belongs to someone. Yes, she does. But where she loves being pet you should really try scratching behind her ears she'd really like that. I whine pulling back. Mom I don't think she likes that. She giggles.
Renesmee this dog already belongs to us. She gives her a questionable look. Come on kid change back. Bella we're the same age. I'm not having this argument with you I already have it enough with Edward as it is. How'd you know it was Aunt Snow? Cause I know my sister. Besides there's no one out here for miles if there was we'd all smell it coming.
Why did you do that? I love the family as much as the rest of us do and participating in the wolves bonfire, but I still hate the fire. And I can't imagine any of those vampires are comfortable around the fire. Besides if I'm around the family I can't be in my wolf or dog form. I transform again, entering the tent, then laying down with my head outside of the tent next to Nessie's hand.
Good doggy. She says petting me. I close my eyes, and she nuzzles up next to me. My girls. My daughter and my kid twin sister. Bella whispers kissing both of our heads. As she reaches down to pet me. Jack comes over and I feel him reach down to pet me. Are you seriously sleeping? MT: No. Just laying down. Had enough of the fire I ask him?
Yeah. I'm kind of afraid if I stay longer then I might end up freezing it. Not that most or if any of them would object. Except maybe Jake who actually likes being warm. He teases. To the side of the little campfire Carlisle and Edward are talking. Edward is very worried.
I can't help but worry that everyone is putting their lives in danger just because I fell in love with a human. You found your mate, you deserve to be happy. But at what cost? Everyone has something to fight for here. I certainly do. Carlisle smiles looking out at everyone then turning both their gaze to the 4 of us in the tent. Edward smiles toward us.
Carlisle I never thanked you for giving me this extraordinary life. Carlisle smiles placing a hand on his shoulder. Tomorrow our battle would begin but tonight we're all together. Inside the tent.... More than my own life itself.... Bella was telling her daughter. That's how much I love you. You and my sister. Tomorrow I need you to stay with Jacob and aunt Snow and uncle Jack.
No matter what happens. We are protecting you both. They all will take care of you. See your aunt Snow with her powers of her cloning abilities she's very powerful she can either help end the world in darkness if she was on Aro's side if she had been turned dark we'd be fighting against her. Or she can end all evil. We don't want her pure and innocent heart to turn dark because of Aro and his clan's dark magic.
They will protect you, and no matter what stay with them even if I have to tell them to take you somewhere. Hearing the hidden sadness in her voice I perk my ears up. When Renesmee starts crying Bella pulls her close and tells her that everything will ok. But will it really? I sure hope so. We never wanted to come to a battle, and hopefully it won't have to.
And if it does we hope that Alice and Jasper will be back by then to help us. And we hope they'd be back anyways before we have to meet up with Aro and his clan come the morning. Hey? She nudges me. Transform for a min. I do. Sing something for us.
