Chapter 5

Carol's pov
It was a normal day at work.I was happily taking orders and making coffee,doing what I normally did.fortunately,my day was about to get a whole lot better.as I sat behind the counter,bored out of my mind(and patiently waiting for my lunch break),I heard the bell on the door ring.I looked up,only to widen my eyes and blush.Taylor walked into the coffee shop,when we locked eyes he also widened his eyes and blushed."well well,twice in a row Huh?"he said,"what a strange coincidence."i joked.we both laughed,"I am unfortunately still working though,my lunch break should be coming up in about an hour."i said."that's alright,I can wait an hour."he assured me,I blushed."w-what?"I stuttered,"well I had a good time talking to you,I figure we could do that again."he said as he leaned against the counter.

I gulped as his face was close to mine,"I-I do-don't mind that at all."i stuttered.he grinned,he leaned back and went to a nearby table.my face was completely red,I shook it off as I noticed a customer come in.after taking her order I made her coffee and handed it to her,she thanked me and put some money in the tip jar.a full hour passed,and it was finally time for my break.I grinned as I looked at the clock,I hung up my apron on the employee rack and went around the counter.I noticed that Taylor was zoned out,looking out the window and at the clouds.I smiled,I made my way to his table and sat across from him."hey."I greeted him,snapping out of his zone.his face lit up,"hey!is it your lunch break now?"he asked as he grabbed my hands and held them.

I blushed and nodded,"good,I was kinda zoning out."he admitted.I giggled,"I noticed."i said.he blushed in embarrassment,"oh my god that's adorable!"I thought as I blushed.I noticed his thumb gently rubbing my hands,it felt really nice."let's get out of here,I noticed a park nearby here.we could hang there for a while,that way you'll be able to get back to work quicker and won't get in trouble."he suggested,"Wowie,that's a really smart plan Hawkins."I complimented him.he blushed and grinned.I got up,still holding his hand."well then come on,let's chat."i said,he blushed and stood up.we continued to hold hands as we walked out of the shop and made our way to the park,we basically talked for hours.you'd think that we'd run out of things to talk to,but we never did.

Eventually I had to go back to work,but I told Taylor not to be so sad because I reminded him that I gave him my number and address."I'll see you around T."I assured him,I turned around.as I was about to walk off Taylor said,"wait."and grabbed my wrist.I turned around and looked at him,he seemed nervous.his face was red and it looked like his heart was gonna beat out of his chest,"Taylor?are you ok?"i said.he shook his head and snapped back into reality,"S-Sorry."he said as he let go of my wrist."I-I was gonna do something,but I'll do it later."he said,"oh,ok."i said,feeling a bit disappointed.was he gonna kiss me?I wouldn't reject him,I wouldn't even mind it.but,I suppose it's too early.I hugged him,he stiffened up before relaxing and hugging me back.
