I wanted to do something new with my hair so I walked into the salon. When I walked in, a lady with blonde hair and blue eyes smiled at me.
"Hi," she started. "Welcome to Serene Salon."
"Hello," I replied, smiling. "I'm (y/n), and I have a one thirty appointment."
"Okay, follow me." The woman said.
I followed the lady to the black hairstylist and her chair. "Okay," The hairstylist said, fluffing my hair a bit. "What do you want to do?"
"Surprise me." I said excitedly.
"That's what I wanted to hear." She said back.
I heard the front door of the salon open, but ignored it, thinking that it was another customer. "I'm looking for (y/n)." A familiar voice said.
"She's in the salon area, sir."
"Thank you."
Then, in the corner of my eye, I saw Justin. "JUSTIN!!!" I clapped happily, my arms open for a hug.
"Hey baby." Justin sang sweetly, kissing my cheek.
"Baby?" The hairstylist said with an attitudinal tone in her voice.
"Yeah," I said, a little bit uncomfortable now. "This is my boyfriend."
"Oh so now black girls are dating white people now?" She snapped, comb in hand.
"Excuse me?!" Justin said, getting angry. I had never seen him like this.
"I mean, what happened to races dating the same race?" I felt myself getting more and more annoyed by this girl. I could feel Justin getting that way.
"Now you listen here--"
"Justin," I interrupted him. "I got this." I got up from the salon chair and stood by Justin.
"Now listen hear Miss. Thang," I snapped at the stylist. "This is my boyfriend and I love him very much. It doesn't matter about what race a person is, what only matters is that two people love eachother. And I don't know what household you lived in, but in my household, we learned that we need to love the person who loves us; despite the color of their skin."
"Are you done?" She snapped. I sighed slowly, trying to get calm before I went buck wild on her and then smiled at her.
"Yeah I'm done," I took the bib from my neck and threw it on the floor. "I'm also done with coming to this salon. Let's go Justin."
I stormed out with Justin right behind me. "That girl was trippin." I huffed.
"What you said back there was beautiful (y/n)." Justin said, holding my hand.
"It was nothing," I said. "I just spoke what was on my mind that's all."
"I thought it was pretty hot that you defended me." Justin announced. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh shut up."
"I think this deserves a treat." Justin said proudly.
"Chipotle?!" I gasped excitedly.
"Chiplotle."
