Don't have kids!

Amy's POV

I'm confused.

"What is going on?" 

"Don't worry about they are fine. Emma is too much like her dad, she wanted ice cream and everyone else wanted pizza so of course we got pizza and she starts crying"

"And let me guess he started crying too and it was a whole thing?"

"Yes yes exactly! How did you- nevermind!"

I couldn't help but laugh. I begin to explain to her that's how they are and it's sweet it just takes some getting used to.

"What's going to take some getting used to?" I heard Lucas come in from behind. I turned around to answer when the sight of Emma on his neck made me smile

Jess must have seen the look on my face when she answered his question for me. "Your children are crazy!"

"What?" Now he was confused

We both laughed at him when Kaleb said he wasn't crazy we were and we all started laughing.

"I have been meaning to ask you" Jess cut in

"ask me what?"

"Night out?" .

"Do you really think Mr know it all here can handle these two on his own so soon? And I'm still a bit tired maybe tomorrow raincheck?"

"No I really don't" she laughed "but sure another time"

And she left.

Later that night Lucas and I were watching a  movie trying to forget about our episode today when Emma started crying again about the monster. I held her and tried to hush her to sleep but it wasn't easy and I was loosing it.

Lucas took her from me and some how him doing that worked and she went back to sleep. I was crying when he came back and I should have held it together because I know he's going to ask me about it. Another hard conversation with the baby daddy.

"That's the second time since you guys got here Amy. What are you not telling me?"

"Remembered when I used to have nightmares?" He nodded "well I still do sometimes and Emma gets them too but it happens mostly when she's in a new environment, and I should have been sleeping with her but I wanted her to hurry and grow up out of it"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

I didn't answer. I couldn't answer.  There was so much about them he didn't know yet that's why I can't leave him alone with them.

"I love those kids, I just met them two nights a go and I love them to death and I don't want you to keep anything about them from me, so please just be straight with me from now on"

I couldn't promise him that knowing my history of keeping things from him.

"I'll try, no promises though"

"That's all I can ask for" he smiled.

After a week in this shit hole of a town and my kids getting to know their dad and uncle. I don't know between Lucas and I being in some very weird spots but still manage to not have sex, or him almost killing my children at the river we used to go to. I wasn't sure how they would feel about leaving so I asked.

"Are you guys ready to go home?" I tried to make it sound exciting but failed. 

"No!" They both yelled at me

"Uhmm what?"

"Is daddy coming?" Emma asked

I couldn't help but cringe at her calling him daddy. "No, but he'll be there for your birthday?"
