what the actual fuck

has it really been TWO MONTHS since i last updated this story??

sigh

that kind of makes sense, since i've been so shit-deep in writer's block that i actually hadn't written ANYTHING for 2 months until a couple of days ago.

man, it feels great to write again

i'm so, so SO sorry for not updating in forever.

this chapter is kind of a filler, i guess, bc writer block is still being stupid & i didn't really know how to "spice" things up for this story. hopefully i'll get out of this funk soon.

thank you for being so patient.

may 5sos bless you with unsuspecting nudes

Chapter 19—Messy Eaters

{ a u t u m n }

          The campsite was freaking fantastic.

It was a big open area, surrounded by the woods around us. There were a couple of picnic benches, and further away was a restroom for everyone to use. And just a couple of feet away from the site was a small boardwalk and a lake for us to swim in—all along with a rope to swing ourselves from.

We had arrived at the site a few minutes ago, and as we unloaded our things from the cars, I couldn’t help but look around the area. We were surrounded by trees, and even though the lake water was kind of murky, I still wanted to swim in it.

As Luke handed me my bag once he pulled it out of the trunk, I couldn’t help but murmur, “This place is so peaceful.”

Luke snorted, shutting the trunk once everyone’s belongings were out. “Wait till we settle in. We’ll most likely fuck shit up.”

I shot him a look, chuckling. “There’s nothing to fuck up, Luke.”

He smirked, throwing an arm over my shoulders as we walked to where everyone else was. “Trust me—with us, it’ll happen.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at that because, yeah, maybe he was right. We were a group of ragtag teenagers out camping—someone was bound to accidentally light themselves on fire. My money is on Michael.

Once everyone’s stuff was unloaded from the cars, we began to set up our tents. And by we, I meant the boys while Erica, Danielle, and I sat on the boardwalk with our shoes off and feet in the cold lake water.

“You three could help us, y’know!” Calum shouted over as he struggled to set up his and Erica’s shared tent up properly.

Erica giggled, swaying her feet in the water, causing it to ripple even more. “No thanks!” she called back.

A few grunts later, I heard Luke shout. “Auttie, why the hell am I setting up your and Danielle’s tent?” he inquired, making me turn to find him staring at me with raised eyebrows.

Of course, I was going to be sharing a tenth with Danielle, seeing as I felt bad if she slept in it by herself. She was my best friend, and while Erica would be busy with Calum, I didn’t want Danielle to feel left out. Luke joked around about how lonely he would be by himself, (causing Michael to make some crude remarks about how the blonde boy could just help himself), but he understood.
