Frost left the palace. Frost didn't have time to talk to the emperor, as his servants told him the emperor was asleep.

Frost held the armour in his hands.

Should he give it to the poor?

"Maybe later," Frost thought to himself, "Just in case the emperor wants me to bring it with me on my quest. He gets angry easily, and I don't want him to be mad at me."

Frost went back into his cave.

Life was boring without a companion.

Frost was an unwanted snow leopard.

With his lilac wings, people often thought he was a monster.

Animals who didn't know him, who he hadn't helped before, think he's a monster. Even some who he has helped, believe he used dark magic.

His one and only friend was the emperor.

The emperor gave him a home to live in, gave him his dream job without hesitating and gave him food to eat.

"What would I be without the emperor?" Frost thought to himself.

"A nobody,"Frost thought with disgrace, "Yes, a nobody. Nobody but just nobody."

Frost curled up in a ball in the corner of his cave.

"I don't know if I should leave for the quest anymore," Frost thought, "The emperor would be so disappointed if I fail. Oh and the poor emperor, getting stuck in ice when he just went for a walk!"

What bothered Frost more was, who would be his companion when he left for a quest?

The emperor was not coming with him, so who would be his companion?

"Myself. I shall be my own companion." Frost thought with sadness.

Frost closed his eyes, and fell into an uneasy sleep.

SQUAWK! SQUAWK!

A crackly cry echoed around the gloomy forest.

Frost woke up with a start.

He yawned and prepared to sleep again,

When the noise came again.

SQUAWK! SQUAWK!

"Wha?" Frost mumbled.

SQUAWK! SQUAWK!

Frost got up with curiosity.

He stalked out of his cave and looked around for anything.

SQUAWK! SQUAWK!

Frost followed the sound and came into a dark castle hidden with thorns and wild berries. Thorns and plants wrapped around the castle's cracked walls, giving it an eerie touch.

"Oh Sleeping Beauty... where are ya?" Frost asked, as he chuckled at his own joke.

Frost looked around.

"Whoever you are! Don't atack! I do not mean any harm!" Frost yelled to the gloomy castle.

SQUAWK! SQUAWK!

The animal yelled in return.

Frost followed the sound.

A few metres later, Frost looked up to see where he was.

He looked around.

Just then, a bloody hand grabbed his ankle.

"Ahh!" Frost yelled, startled.
