"Here." Juniper said, as she handed Frost a red and blue armour with creative carvings on it. No gems were to be seen, and that made Frost satisfied. "It's mine?" Frost spoked excitedly.
"Yes. No need to returns. Jet will never knows."
"And you confirm there is no poison whatsoever?" Frost asked.
"Yes."
"Good."
As Frost tried his armour, Juniper explained, "Your's armour symbolise uniqueness. You is unique, so you and this armours will be good friend."
"Ahh..." Frost stuck his head into the helmet, and exclaimed, "it's a perfect fit!"
"Of courses. And Sky, your turn." Juniper handed Sky a gray and blue armour, with beautiful opals engraved on it.
"Your's armour symbolise wisdoms and friendships." Juniper said. "Wow. I'm gonna wear it! Right now!" Sky chirped happily.
"Sure...but we need to hurries. Meals are at 12, as Jet say. He'll know when we aren't there." Juniper said.
"What time is it?" Sky questioned.
Frost looked to the sun. "11:45 a.m."
"Oh no... hurry!" Juniper said. "If we miss meals, Jet wills be furious. And he'll knows what's goings ons."
The trio hurried around the room, picking up their belongings and clothes. "How do we break outta here? Our cage." Sky asked, "you know... we are in jail? We are stuck?"
"You isn't. The bars are mainly for show. Push the bars away from the walls, then you'll sees that the backs of the bar is actually nothing. You guys have been wasting yours times." Juniper said.
"Oh?" Frost pushed the bars away from the wall, as strangely, the back bars facing the wall was nothing. It was actually just a wall, with no bars, and they could've escaped!
"Told you their security is horrible." Sky's mental voice said.
"Yeah... you're right." Frost thought.
With a push of her hands, the door of the room opened, and outside was a corridor with asleep demons, dozing off on the walls.
"Uh? Is this normal? 'Cause this feels too easy. Don't you think?" Frost whispered to Juniper, who knew the most about demons, since she was a demon.
"It normal." Juniper answered simply.
Following Juniper's lead, they twisted and turned through the corridors, and crept silently away from all the watching guards.
"It's just too easy... too easy." Frost kept on murmuring. In fact, it was. Not a single guard was there to block them, some leaving their posts or others fast asleep. And, Jet was nowhere to be seen either. His fellow "servants" are all unseen.
"Almost there. Now this is the hards bits. This is Jet's room. But in orders to leaves this horrible places, we has to passes his's room." Juniper sighed, "follow me."
Juniper pushed open a door, labelled: Lord Jet Joon Jackson
She put her finger to her lips and motioned Frost and Sky to follow. And wow. Lord Jet's room was even grander, and more majestic than Emperor Icicle's.
The walls were shiny and made out of gold, paintings of dragons were painted on the walls, with every detail. The green for the scales. The gold for the horns. The dark green for the tails. The purple for the eyes. Every dragon showed perfection. The floor was covered with velvet red carpets, which were softer than a newborn rabbit. A king sized bed was placed in a corner, the sheets ironed perfectly and the pillows clean like snow. The study desk was covered with beautiful books, each cover unique and different from all others. Swords and shields and armours were hung on the golden walls, all different and all special. Some were blue like diamonds, so joyful and pure. Others were a midnight black, so evil and dirty. Portraits of Jet were hung on the walls, every crucial detail painted on the canvas, a perfect resemblance of Jet. His yellow teeth and cunning smile. His bloody claws and dirty hands. Every detail.
"Wow... uh this one looks like Jet is literally staring at me..." Sky eyed one of the most realistic paintings of Jet. "Yeah..." Frost whispered, he shuffled closer to the painting, and could smell the horrible stench of Jet. It was as if the portrait's eyes were looking straight at Frost, like a real eye...
"Okay stop nosing abouts. Jet alway knows when someone enter his room." Juniper warned. She stomped out of Jet's room with Sky, and said, "A precaution."
But Frost felt like lingering longer for a bit. He stared at the portrait's eye for a bit, and he had a horrible feeling of it staring at Frost all the way.
"Uh... guys? Who drew this painting?" Frost asked. "Uh... I don't knows... it was actually not there before..." Juniper said, "Hurry Frost, we're running out of time!"
Frost walked closer to the portrait, and scrutinized it. The eyes... were the most realistic of them all. Wherever he walked, the eyes reflected the place he went to. That was when Frost noticed something.
Then a terrible picture formed in Frost's mind.
What if... what if this painting was not a real painting?!
Frost backed away slowly, and planned to tell his discovery to Juniper and Sky, but it was too late.
The painting tore open, revealing Jet, standing there, as real as possible.
They had been tricked.
