Chapter 9: The Discussion

Frost paced around.

' Is Sky actually mad at me? I just wanted to help... Maybe he found my help annoying? So... he's mad at me for helping him? Frost thought miserably.

' No... no way... I am Sky's only friend, and he is my only not greedy friend... we've only met for like... a day? Less than a day? And... ugh.' Frost thought.

His alarm clock rang.

' Um... work time? But I said in my letter that I wasn't going to go to work... hmm... it's decided. NAP TIME!!!!!' Frost said cheerfully.

Frost got into bed. But before he could close his eyes, a knock sounded on the door.

' Wha... WHO DARES TO RUIN MY NAP!!?' Frost yelled furiously.

' I'm looking for Mr Frost Amethyst Cerulean.' The animal said patiently outside the door.

' COMING!' Frost shouted as he jumped out of his covers.

' Who could it be?' Frost thought nervously.

When he opened the door, the person waiting outside made him jump.

The person was Emperor Icicle.

' Greetings young Frost. We have matters to discuss.' Emperor Icicle said.

' Wha... emperor? What... I um...' Frost said. Fiddling with his face to make sure there weren't any drools on his face.

' Have you forgotten your manners? Where's the " Greetings your majesty?"' The emperor said solemnly.

' I um... I'm very sorry, your majesty. Because your visit was... quite.... quite sudden. I am very sorry. Would you like me to greet you now? Yes? Okay- Greetings your majesty, it's a pleasure to meet you here.' Frost replied.

' Good, now dear, I hope you haven't forgotten to go to work, when I knocked on the door, one yelled that I ruined one's nap.'

' That's uh... my uh... pet rat! Uh... hehe...' Frost said randomly.

' Okay...' The emperor said, puzzled.

'If the emperor arrived at my home with ' A lot to discuss' that must mean he had received my letter, right?' Frost thought.

' Um... your majesty? Have you received my letter yet?'

' Okay. Let's not waste our time now, hmm? We still have lots and lots to discuss.' The emperor replied unsurely.

' That means... you haven't received it yet?' Frost asked again.

' Received what? Hmm?' The emperor questioned.

' Oh... uh-um, my letter...'

' Oh no... I definitely have not received your letter! So, my dear, what's this letter about?'

' Um... it's for... telling you something.'

' Of course I know. That's what letters are for.' The emperor replied.

' Uh... well... I just wanted to tell you that... um... I didn't want a weapon...' Frost said, barely over a whisper.

' Now that's exactly what we were going to discuss about. Come on, now dear, let the discussion begin.' The emperor told Frost.

' Okay... so... what first?'

' Now, I need to tell you why I want you to choose a weapon, hmm? So, it's because of your safety. Everything's resolved around it. You are the one and only Head Search And Rescue in our kingdom! How important is that?! And besides, I promise to you, your weapon and armour will save you countless times. I feel it in my bones.' The emperor said.

' Okay... but, I have a great reason for not getting a weapon,' Frost continued, ' I'm a snow leopard with wings! How rare is that!? I'm not a greedy snow leopard like you! Though sometimes, I might be annoying! Nobody is perfect! You can't force me to choose a weapon! I shall flee and never be seen again!' Frost gritted his teeth and yelled.

' Woah woah, dearie, are you becoming a teenager? Going through puberty eh? So mad... all that yelling...' The emperor muttered.

' Look, I'm sorry for being so mad and mean just now... I'm just... just mad.' Frost said, his head facing the floor.

' Persuasive Power Frost! Remember Persuasive Power? Use points to persuade animals to agree!' Frost thought cheekily.

' Anything else to say?' The emperor questioned.

' Yes, your majesty! I indeed have something else to say. Now, let's start from the number 1 point. Do you like to hold a weapon and wear an armour while having a quest? Really think about this question in other's perspective and try to understand why! Number 2 point, is Do you think forcing animals to do what you want is appropriate? Try to think and remember what the laws are, and why! Number 3 point is, You will never have to force anything that is truly meant to be! Or, Don't force pieces that don't fit! Just let things happen, let life flow! Get it?!' Frost said.

' I... I'm sorry... but still...'

' Sign my oath to never force animals to do anything even if you're emperor! Follow what I say!' Frost replied.

'Wait a sec. Are you really gonna force me to do as you say?!' The emperor said with a toothy grin.

' No... I mean... Ugh! You know what? This is your decision, and I'm not forcing you to do as I say.' Frost replied.

' Okay, well then, I shall not follow your oath,' The emperor replied, ' You should understand that we should not force people to do stuff.'

' Ugh. You know what? I understand so much that you will not want to know.' Frost replied unhappily.

' Oookay then. It is sorted. Go to my palace this instant and choose a weapon. You understand?'

Frost nodded hesitantly.

' Then the discussion brought us to a wonderful conclusion for everyone.' The emperor grinned.

'Yeah sure.' Frost replied as he walked away.
