Requested by Bananabellaa

The shiny steel of the blade caught the mid afternoon light of the sun as Y/N wiped her cloth over the blade carefully.

Gibbs had requested her to polish the swords. She was a pirate, one they'd asked to tag along with when they rescued Captain Jack Sparrow from being hanged.

She had been marooned by her crew due to being framed for stealing from her previous captain.

After getting off the island (due to sneaking aboard a ship) they'd sailed to a small town, where she hid in alleyways, and got food where she could.

One day there was shouting and yelling outside, so she peeked out of the alley to see.

And there he was. The legend himself.

Captain Jack Sparrow.

About to be hung, for what, she didn't know and didn't care.

But she interfered, dashing out, distracting the guards and putting up a fight while his crew cut him down.

At the last second, he'd grabbed her arm and ushered her aboard the Black Pearl.

"We could use another mate on board, love." He'd said.

And for the past few weeks, though he'd been acting weird. Whenever he was around her, he wasn't as cocky and carefree.
More nervous and quiet, almost intimidated.

Y/N had asked him if anything was wrong, but he'd said no-obviously that was a lie.

Did he not want her on his ship anymore? If so, why? And why couldn't he be more straightforward about it at least?

A loud bang made her raise her head, as Jack stumbled into the room.

"'Lo there, Y/N. How are the swords?" He asked.

"They're good, sir. Would we need them anytime soon? There's still a few to go."

Jack laughed, setting down his bottle. "Y/N, for the thousandth time, call me 'Jack'. It's okay."

JACK'S POV

Y/N turned her face away, a small smile curving her lips.

It was adorable when she got shy and blushed. "Jack." She said.

My heart automatically beat faster. The sound of my name, coming from her, it just...

"Yes, love?" I replied, pulling up a stool and sitting at her table.

"Ah....what brings you here? Shouldn't you be on the top deck, steering the ship?"

Ah, okay.

Most of the crew had caught on already that I liked Y/N. A lot.

So I'd asked Gibbs to steer the ship and take control of it, while I would-

"You just wanna talk to the laddie, don't you Cap?" Gibbs had teased, and I'd smacked his shoulder.

"So what?"

Will, who was within earshot, simply smirked. "Ah, just let him, Gibbs. You got this, Jack."

In the end, Will had practically shoved me down the steps to the room Y/N was in, polishing the swords.

"I just came to see how you're doin'" I shrugged, trying to desperately look casual, even though I was just about to explode from how happy I was around her.

"I'm okay, thank you." Y/N shrugged, putting down her cloth.

"What about you, Jack? Are you okay? You've been acting weird lately."

Oh, no.

"Oh, I'm good, I just..." I trailed off, unsure.

I'd fought off many guards and pirates, have been imprisoned, marooned on an island, lost my beloved Black Pearl and got it back, and this is what I can't do?

Tell the person I like, that I like her?

"I know it's only been a few weeks, but you can trust me, Jack." Y/N eyed me, her gaze not faltering.

"It's not like I have anyone to tell, anyway."

Clenching my fist under the table, I turned to her.

Her (hair length/hair color) glinted in the afternoon light like coins.

The long sleeved shirt and vest that she wore was ripped on the left shoulder from a fight. And her eyes, surprisingly, were so gentle.

Unlike Elizabeth, who had always looked at me like a filthy rat.

"Well, here's 'se thing, love," I started, heart racing.

Rum would be great right now. Where's the rum?

I met her eyes. "Y/N, I have a reason for why've been acting like this," I began, "And you've seen it too."

She simply nodded, urging me on.

"Well, I...I like you, Y/N. I came down here to say that."

If she were faster, I'd have missed the smile on her face because she covered her mouth.

       "Oh, wow-oh. Jack..."

Nothing could prepare me. Automatically she reached across the table and kissed me, cupping my face.

I froze, eyes wide, before she slowed down a bit, stroking my hair. Then I held her hands and kissed her back as sweetly as I could.

A chorus of cheers and clapping interrupted us.

       "That's our captain!"

"He did it! He told the lassie!"

Y/N's face was red, her lips swollen as I pulled away, smirking.

Then I turned to my crew, shouting, "Oi! Where's me privacy that I need?"

Will and Gibbs were grinning, but those grins disappeared when I shouted. "Sorry, Captain! Let's leave, everyone!" Gibbs ordered.

As they retreated, Y/N held my hand, a sly smile on her face. "How about we try that again, Captain?"
