BEING IN MYSTIC FALLS SINCE ALMOST THREE YEARS, Y.N HAD MANAGED TO MAKE SOME FRIENDS BUT NOT THE TYPE OF FRIENDS WHERE AROUND THEM YOU WOULD ALWAYS BE SAFE AND OUT OF PROBLEMS. Her friends, all of them including her, were engulfed in their supernatural lives. Bonnie being a witch always solicited by the others to do spells and save the day, Elena being a doppelgänger required to break some crazy spell, Stefan and Damon, the brothers being vampire since 1864, Tyler being a werewolf and Caroline being a new vampire being killed by Katherine, Elena's doppelgänger. By chance, Jeremy and Matt were still human so she wasn't feeling entirely alone but Matt didn't know about the supernatural. Their lives went crazy over the last few months but by chance they were all still very alive, well except Vicky, Matt's sister. But once again, new threats were in town and this time, like the last time, Caroline paid the price. She had been tortured for hours by werewolves and she was still shocked when she went home.
It's the reason y.n found herself knocking at Caroline's door late in the evening after Stefan had called her to tell her what happened. Her friends always tried to keep a distance between the human and the supernatural threats, for her own safety but she felt pretty much useless and didn't like it that much. Anyway, she always had a recap when something happened and this time it was Stefan who did it right after he had brought the young Forbes home. No longer after she knocked, the door opened on the blonde vampire in housecoat, her beautiful eyes were red and puffy, sign that she had cried, and it was understandable.
"y.n ? what are you doing here ?" inquired the vampire, frowning and surprised to see the human on her doorstep. "Stefan called me and told me what happened, so I came," replied the questioned girl trying to mimic a smile.
At this moment, Caroline's beautiful blue eyes filled with tears as she pulled her friends into her arms and buried her head into the crook of the human's neck, smelling her sweet scent, a scent who always managed to calm the Forbes. y.n wrapped around the frame of the beautiful blonde and hugged her as tightly as she could with her human strength. Then they pulled away and the blonde led her into her bedroom where they laid down, y.n behind Caroline and hugging her. The two had a special relationship, they were extraordinary close and for a reason, the y.l.n had feelings for the blonde vampire, she fell in love with the Forbes' temper, with her beauty, with everything that made Caroline Forbes. Everyone knew about the human's feelings, including Caroline. And the vampire would lie if she said that she didn't felt anything for the human, on the contrary but until now she wasn't ready to admit to herself and to the others. But the more the time passed, the more Caroline wanted to tell the world how much she loved the incredible y.n.
In the arms of the girl she loved, Caroline let herself go and began to cry again, reliving the horrors that she had been subjected to for several hours, breaking her strong shell. She didn't deserve what she lived, she was an extraordinary person. Moreover, she knew that she could cry in y.n's arms, she knew she could do and say everything with the human because she would never judge her. The beautiful y.h.c stroked Caroline's hair while murmuring a lullaby her mother used to sing for her when she was younger and terrified by the monster under her bed.
"It's all right Care', I'm here, you're safe, you have nothing to fear," the teen whispered softly in the ear of the girl she loved. "Thanks for coming," the blonde breathed while changing their position. Now they were facing each others but their members were entangled, pulling them as close as possible. "Always," smiled the beautiful human.
And they stayed like that for a moment, just looking into each others' eyes, trying to be even closer sometimes but they were already as close as humanly possible. Their forehead were pressed, their noses were touching, they could felt their breaths on their faces while their arms were wrapped around their waists and their legs entangled.
"y.n...I...," Caroline began to say, finding the moment perfect to confess her feelings when the doorbell rand.
The vampire closed her eyes and almost groaned, she was ready and someone had to come and destroy the moment. Neither of them wanted to let go of each others but they did, not knowing who it was it could be very important. So they reached the door and opened it, discovering Stefan in Bonnie and Elena's company who he had called to support their best friend, not thinking that the human could be with Caroline. The Salvatore sent y.n an apologising look but she sent him a sweet smile while Bonnie and Elena were hugging their best friend, still traumatised by the tortures she lived. At their foot were their pillows and bags, sign that they had planned to do a sleepover. The beautiful human, not wanting to disturb them and having to wake up early the next day because of her part-time job, left the inside of the house to join Stefan on the doorstep.
"Wait, where are you going ?" Caroline asked, breaking the hug with her friends and grabbing y.n's wrist. "You need a night with your best friends and I have to wake up early tomorrow," the human answered with a soft, reassuring smile, the one Caroline loved so much.
The blonde was disappointed by her departure but understood that she had a job the next day, so she pulled her into a tight hug, under the eyes of their three friends who were understanding than soon the two would be more than just friends. y.n giggled and wrapped around the Forbes' waist to pull her even closer.
"See you tomorrow," y.n said before she placed a long kiss on Caroline's cheek while she was furiously blushing.
Then, she left the Forbes' house with Stefan by her side under the eyes of the three best friends, Bonnie and Elena eager to ask many questions to the vampire, but for now her blue eyes were following the frame figure of the girl she loved until she was out of sight. Of course, y.n sent her one last look and a little wave before disappearing in the night with the youngest Salvatore who would ask her many questions while he was accompanying her back home. It was the beginning of something big and passionate, they all knew that.
