WHEN KATHERINE STEPPED OUT OF HER CARRIAGE, THE YOUNGEST SALVATORE'S HEART FAILED A BIT, SHE WAS DEFINITELY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN SHE HAD EVER SEEN. y.n always knew that she was attracted by women but in her society it was frowned up, well you could die because of this, and she knew that, so she had to be discreet. But Katherine had caught her glare and the Pierce had to admit, she was the beautifulest and most innocent person she ever saw in her now eternal life. Soon, the two grew closer, passing most of their times together, going in town, reading together or just chatting. y.n had fallen in love pretty quickly, she knew she was in love because she had read of it many times, she knew about the pounding heart, the butterflies in the stomach, the shivers launched from a single touch and she had all of this. On her side, Katherine was pretty sure she was in love too, it wasn't what she had planed when she arrived in town but she welcomed it with open arms this time. After a moment, they confessed their feelings to each other, Katherine being the bravest, and they started a relationship. However, to cover their tracks the Pierce had to use the young woman's brothers. y.n knew very well what was the brunette and was more than okay with that, the vampire had made a point of being honest with her, it was the first time she had felt love for someone in many years, she didn't want to screw it up. The Pierce also told her about klaus, about her plan of escape, she'd told her everything except her escape plan in case something went wrong. She knew the city council knew about vampires and she might in danger.
The two were actually in the Salvatore's room, everyone thought they were great friends but no one imagined that they were actually lovers, that when they were alone they would share kisses and sweet touches. The two were sitting on the little sofa at the foot's bed, holding hands and kissing each other while talking, mostly about the Petrova's past. The sister of Stefan and Damon loved to heart her talk about what she'd been through over the precious centuries, how it was, who she met, everything. And Katherine talked about her past happily, for the first time, she said everything, her feelings, her past, she was honest and she loved that.
"Do you really have to join Damon now ?" inquired y.n with a sigh, tired of this situation. "You know I have to, we can't afford anyone to find out," replied the beautiful brunette, not liking the situation either. "I know," breathed the youngest Salvatore. Katherine cupped her lover's face, her thumbs stroking her delicate cheeks, before she kissed her with love and passion, bringing all of her feelings through the kiss. y.n responded to the kiss by grabbing her by her hips, clinging onto her silk gown. "You are the only one that matters my love," assured the doppelgänger with a sweet smile.
y.n smiled softly as their foreheads pressed together, their noses touching, their breaths mingling and their lips still very close. Katherine kissed the beautiful Salvatore girl one last time before reluctantly leaving the room to join Damon Salvatore and pretend to be in love when she was craving for his little sister. It was very painful for both of them, especially for y.n but they knew it had to happen this way, they knew that they had to blur things until they could run away together. Katherine was already planning to turn her lover, it was more than obvious that she wanted to be with her for the rest of the eternity. And y.n was willing to do so as long as they managed to escape together and live a life of their own.
One night, while Katherine was with Stefan before joining the young Salvatore, she was trapped and kidnapped by Giuseppe, the Salvatore's father, to burn with the rest of the town's vampires in the church. Upon hearing this, Damon, Stefan and y.n decided that they had to save the beautiful vampire, all of them in love with her. As they were about to rescue her, the three of them had been shot by no one else than their own father, killing them instantly without any remorse. However, he did not that when doing it, he would just launched the transition into a vampire and signed his death arrest. When George Lockwood freed Katherine, the vampire rushed to where the bodies of the Salvatore siblings were laying. Seeing the woman she loved unconscious of the floor, dead, made the beautiful brunette's heart clenched, she wished the young woman hadn't been killed trying to save her when she already had a plan. And the Pierce cursed herself, she should had told her about her escaping plan, but on the other hand, she knew that she would turn now. So she knelt down beside the Salvatore girl's body and tenderly stroked her cold cheek.
"One day, we'll meet again, I promise you my love," whispered the Petrova, closing her eyes. The brunette leant in before placing a soft kiss on y.n's lips, a single tear rolling down her cheek as she rose to her feet, leaving the love of her life to run from klaus once again. But this time, it destroyed her to live.
When Katherine finally returned to Mystic Falls, over than a hundred years later, with the sole purpose to deliver her doppelgänger to Klaus and negotiate her freedom with the original vampire and be finally free and happy with the love of her life. She found Stefan and Damon very quickly, they weren't really discreet and they were both attached to her doppelgänger. But she was surprised to did not find y.n with them as the three had always been very close and now that she was remembering it, she never found her through the centuries.
"Where's y.n ?" she inquired one day, looking at Stefan. "You don't know ?" huffed the green eyed vampire. "Knowing what ?" asked the beautiful brunette. "She's dead Katherine, she didn't support to turn into a vampire and live an entire life without you," declared Damon bitterly.
The Petrova felt her heart clenched in her chest, the love of her life was dead because she didn't think that she could live the eternity without her. And at this moment, Katherine was more than willing to let Klaus ripped her heart out of her chest to find peace and join y.n, because life without her wasn't worthing it. It was now her only goal, getting killed to join the love of her life, not caring much about Stefan and Damon who were just a way to cover the tracks of her and y.n.
