Y.N LOCKWOOD WAS TYLER LOCKWOOD'S AUNT, ONLY IN HER TWENTIES, SHE HAD ACTIVATED THE CURSE AT A YOUNG AGE. At the time, y.n was fifteen years old and she was at a party hosted by one of the high school students when one of the seniors tried to rape her. The teenager at the time pushed him away with all the strength she had and because he was drunk, he lost his balance and hit his head hard on the edge of the pool table, killing him instantly. She immediately felt the curse run through her veins as she fell to the floor crying. One of her friends, who had been looking for her for a while, found her crying and when she explained her what happened, she decided to call the police. Liz Forbes took over the case and wrote it off as an accident, he was drunk, he lost balance and fell, not prosecuting the teenager for homicide or involuntary homicide. She struggled to keep her secret but succeeded, all while staying in the small town of Mystic Falls, unlike her brother, Mason, who quickly left town when he could. Her secret stayed with her for a long time but when Mason returned to town after the death of her other brother, Richard, Damon Salvatore soon discovered the secret behind the Lockwood family. Luckily, Stefan managed to convince his brother that y.n was not a danger when they found out about her, since Damon wanted to kill her. Then, when Tyler activated the curse, she helped him as best as she could while Mason disappeared off the face of the earth, not surprisingly from him.
Finally, she learned that Damon had been the one to kill her brother and she wanted to take revenge so badly but stopped herself because it wouldn't bring her brother back. But when Tyler found out, he spun and decided to leave with one of Mason's friend, Jules, leaving time with only a note to his mother and aunt. y.n promised herself that she'd give him a dressing down the next time she saw him, but she didn't expect it to happen so soon. Carol fell down the stairs and ended up in the hospital and her son came back into town to check on her, to make sure she was okay and y.n yelled at him hard once they were out before she left the hospital to go back to the Lockwood house where she had been living since Richard's death at Carol and Tyler's request. Meanwhile, the threat of Klaus Mikaelson had become more and more menacing, Katherine had prepared the ground perfectly for him and he was ecstatic at the idea of breaking the curse that had weighed on him for over a thousand years. y.n got out of her car after running a hand over her face. She grabbed her purse before closing the door and heading for the front door. The Lockwood was about to open the door when she felt a presence behind her and then a throat-clearing sound. She turned, wary, and met the blue eyes of the most handsome man she had ever seen. And he had the same reaction, she was definitely the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and never for a vampire was that a long time.
"Klaus, I presume," she said as she walked down the steps. "Clever girl," smiled the future hybride.
It didn't take her long to realise why he was there, waiting for her outside her house. y.n was far from stupid and she knew what he needed to break the curse, he needed a werewolf. She was one of the only werewolves in town now that Tyler was here to visit his mother. Her heart suddenly began to pound in her chest, she was terrified of dying. The Lockwood didn't want to die, she still had so much to live but it seemed to be inevitable.
"You're here because I'm the werewolf for the sacrifice," whispered the werewolf, knowing very well that he would heard her. "It was my original idea but...," in a split of a second he was inches away from her, startling her. "It would be such a shame to ruin such a beautiful face," smirked the vampire.
Against her will, her face turned red scarlet, something she tried to hide but it was a difficult task. Despite the rumours and his horrible reputation, the man in front of her was more than charming, he had a British accent to die for with a sensual, deep voice and she was sure that if he kept talking she would fall even more under his spell. She hated to think that, he was the bad guy, the person she had to hate. Nevertheless, she finally came to her senses, she looked up at him with determination.
"If I'm not the werewolf you're going to sacrifice then it's going to be my nephew and I refuse to let that happen, I'd rather be sacrificed in his place," declared Tyler's aunt harshly. "Let's go," she added, ready to die.
Niklaus looked surprised, he was surprised by her determination but he couldn't help but admire the way she was a priest sacrificing herself for her nephew. She seemed to be very attached to her family, to her nephew, and it was obvious that she would do anything to protect him, including dying. He himself, despite what he might have let on, was very attached to his family, whom he had tried to keep close to him and protect for a thousand years, even if he had a very particular method for doing so.
"Your nephew is not my target, love," revealed the Mikaelson. "No ?" frowned y.n, surprised. She didn't say anything for a moment, wondering who could take her place if it wasn't Tyler. The answer popped into her head almost immediately: Jules. "No, she protected my nephew, I owe her," protested the werewolf, shaking her head.
Klaus was really intrigued by this young woman who was willing to put others before herself, even strangers or people she didn't necessarily care for, which was the case with Jules. Indeed, the Lockwood had been unable to frame her the moment she had turned up on the doorstep. And she hated her even more when she kidnapped Caroline to torture her and then when she dragged her nephew in her stories before disappearing with him. Nevertheless, she couldn't let someone die in her place. But Klaus did not want to sacrifice her, he was determined to keep her alive, he had already made his mind.
"You want to die in her place but are you thinking about the consequences," declared the future hybrid. "You die and your precious Tyler leave with this near stranger once again, leaving dear Carol all alone, without no one," he whispered in her ear. "Do you really want this ?" he added. He had struck a chord and he knew it when he saw her look change suddenly. He was right and she knew it. If y.n died, Tyler would leave town again with Jules and he would leave Carol alone, with no one to support her and help her. "Anyway, my decision is made, you will not be sacrificed tonight, little wolf," finally announced Klaus. "I don't think I'll be able to kill you," he admitted, caressing her cheek softly.
The werewolf felt her breath catch at the soft, stealthy touch as a surprised look appeared on her face. But, in a flash, the Mikaelson was gone, nowhere to be seen. y.n placed a hand on her chest, recovering from the discussion, as a soft smile appeared on her face. She then remembered that tonight was the night Klaus Mikaelson would die, after the ritual, the others had planned to kill him. The Lockwood found herself regretting his future death, she would have liked to see him again, to learn more about this intriguing man. And she had no idea that this would be the case, that he would not die and that they would meet again to start something great.
