JEREMY HAD LOVED Y.N SO SOME TIME NOW, HE HAD REALISED WHEN SHE ALMOST DIED BY KATHERINE'S HAND, HIS OLDER SISTER'S DOPPELGÄNGER. But he didn't know how to say it to her, she was intimidating in a way, well he was the only to feel that way because she might the person the most pacifist in town with the quieter temper, and she was his friend, he didn't want to ruing such a beautiful friendship, a friendship that meant a lot for the handsome brunette. So, the youngest Gilbert kept his feelings for her and tried to get over them. On her side, y.n would lie if she said that she didn't felt anything for Elena's brother, he had a special place in her heart since a moment now and she wanted more than just a friendship, no matter how much she loved their friendship, it wasn't enough anymore. However, after a while, it was becoming torture for Jeremy to sit around doing nothing and saying nothing, being close to her was unbearable because he couldn't do all the things he wanted. So, he decided to speak with his sister who was friends with y.n, and she'd told him to go for it, not to wait ti tell her, that he'd probably regret it if he didn't say or do anything now.
That's how the dark haired man found himself knocking on the door of her family house at almost eleven o'clock at night, by chance her parents were away for two weeks, holidays for their wedding anniversary. The y.l.n was in her living room playing video games, a pizza on the table with some sweet, she was enjoying being alone at her home, she could do everything she wanted without a voice telling her to do otherwise. When she heard the knocks on the door, the teenager paused her game frowning and wondering who it could be at this house and she was praying for not a supernatural emergency. But when she opened the door, she discovered Jeremy, he seemed quite nervous as he kept rocking back and forth.
"Jeremy ? What are you doing here ?" inquired the high school girl. "I really need to talk to you," replied the Gilbert, pleading her to let him enter.
She gently but her lower lip before she decided to let him into the house, the cold already making her shiver. Indeed, she was dressed only in a tank top and fairly short pyjama shorts because it was very warm inside, but outside it was winter, it was freezing cold and she had to clench her jaw because of this when she was still on the porch. The duo made their way to the living room without exchanging a word before they sat down on the sofa, y.n curious.
"What did you want to talk about ?" asked the beautiful teenager.
Jeremy observed her for a long moment, trying to work up the courage to tell her how he felt, after all he hand't turned up at such a late hour to say nothing. But it was harder than he thought, he was afraid of reject at this moment and he wanted to slap himself to have come so quickly without even thinking about it.
"Jeremy," she called, bringing him back to earth. "Are you all right ?" she frowned, grabbing his hand. "I love you," the raven haired man let out.
He knew he could have been a little more delicate, but the words had come out by themselves, he had bottle them up for so long that they just popped out of his mouth, he couldn't stop them. y.n frowned for a quarter of a second, taking in what her friend had just said, she had waited for this moment for so long, too long that she had lost hope to be with him. Then, her face broke into a radiant smile that warmed Jeremy's heart and appeased his mind, if she wasn't feeling the same she wouldn't have smiled.
"I love you too Jeremy," confessed the teenager, her cheeks turning scarlet red.
The girl looked away, embarrassed but not less happy before the handsome Gilbert boy grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. They both had smiles plastered on their faces as they stared into each other's eyes. Then, slowly, their faces came together before they exchanged their first kiss, a sweet and lovely kiss that they would never forget. The boy's hands cupped her face as she rested her hands on the shape of his neck.
"I should have told you earlier," declared the Gilbert once they pulled away. "Me too, but I was afraid it wouldn't be mutual," informed the young girl with a small smile. "Just like me," he chuckled slightly. "But I was also terrified to do it because of Vicky and Anna," admitted the raven-haired man.
Jeremy had quite the past with his girlfriends, first Vicky who had been turned in a vampire by Damon and killed by Stefan after she tried to kill Elena and Jeremy, then Anna the daughter of one of the vampires in the tomb, who manipulated at the beginning and finally fell in love with the handsome Gilbert. She died too, killed with the others vampire of the tomb. And y.n knew everything about this, so she smiled weakly and grabbed his strong hand to squeeze it, he was terrified to lose her too. The y.l.n pulled him towards her and kissed him tenderly with the sole purpose to reassure him.
"You want to stay here ?" she inquired grabbing her controller after she pulled away. "You don't have to ask twice," laughed Jeremy.
Sitting next to each others, the two began to play one of y.n's video games while they were laughing and talking, their smiles never leaving their faces. This night ended much better than it began, for both of them happiness was on their lives once again.
