CHAPTER TWO : HOMEWARD BOUND

There was something about the sunrise.

No matter when she was in the world, east or west, the sunrise was always just as warm as she remembered. The feeling of the light slowly covering the forehead, to the eyelids and finally the cheeks and chin. It was such a simple thing, yet it made her feel more human than anything.

In the heart of Brussels, sat a lone girl. Her hair was a deep navy blue and settled at her shoulders, her fringe was slanted to the side with a white hairband in it. Her school uniform was already on her body as she simply sat.

The girl's eyes were closed, breathing in the air as she listened to the sounds around her. Only a few people talking could be heard, early birds who were doing their daily exercise, or shop owners who had to start early.

This city was just starting its day, and the curse sat peacefully listening to it.

Oh, that's right, I forgot to mention who this girl was.

The body that was sat on the balcony of a little B&B was Kaori Koritsu, the younger cousin of Satoru Gojo. However, the person that was inhabiting that body was Neyomi, the first-grade curse that incarnated twelve years ago.

See, the two had an unusual dynamic, one that was more of a partnership then a wicked curse trying to take over a host's body (like some other curse you may know). They had a number of pacts between them, so many that they've both lost count, but one – and the most important one – allowed Neyomi two hours every morning to watch the sunrise.

So that's how Neyomi ended up sitting there, cursed tattoos covering her face, neck and arms but causing no mayhem. Neyomi was an enigma to the Jujustu World, as was Kaori but they ended up finding solace in each other.

ring! ring! ring! ring!

The peacefulness was interrupted by an alarm. Her two hours were up. However, instead of feeling distain or upset that she couldn't watch more, Neyomi simply smiled and reached her hand to turn off the timer. While this action was taking place, the cursed tattoos slowly faded, fracturing off like whips of fire and falling into the nothingness of space.

By the time the alarm had been turned off, Kaori Koritsu was back in charge of the body.

Instantly Kaori was alert and was grabbing her phone. She checked the date, the time and then the date again. Her eyes widened ever so slightly with excitement as she smiled. Today was the day she was going home.

With a spring in her step, she wandered into the B&B to find all her bags (a single backpack, a small suitcase and a plastic bag full of presents) already packed and ready to go. A gracious look swelled in her eyes as she muttered, "thanks Neyomi," before carrying on with her day.

After collecting all her bags, checking out of the B&B, and waiting for her uber, Kaori was on her way to Zaventem Airport where one of the assistants should be waiting for her.
