CHAPTER TEN : ONE YEAR PRIOR, PART TWO

It's November 30th, 2016.

The snow had settled into the rural area of Tokyo which left Jujutsu Tech looking colder then usual. Winter was always Kaori's favourite time of the year, the snow and everything that came with it was just so warm and cosy.

All wrapped up warm, the group of five left their morning class to go work on some personal things. It was mostly going to include training in an indoor facility that only got opened in the winter (despite Maki still wanting to try in outside) and whatever artistic escapade Kaori decided to do next.

As the group walked on, Yuta seemed to stop and look at the sky. The other four, who were now pretty in tune with each other, stopped too and looked at him.

"What's wrong Yuta?" Panda asked in concern.

"Well, uh, I think I just had a bad premonition." Yuta answered, still staring up at the sky like he was expecting something.

"You're imagining things." Maki told him.

"Yep, he's imagining things." Panda chorused with Maki as they both walked away.

"Bonito flakes." Inumaki commented.

Kaori was the only one to take it semi-seriously, only because she wanted Yuta to feel like he was being heard out. "Was it a vision, or a gut feeling?"

"A gut feeling, I guess." Yuta answered, as he tore his gaze from the sky. He looked to his friends who were walking away. "Hey, guys! Wait up!"

Yuta grabbed Kaori's hand and ran after the group, leaving Kaori to giggle lightly. Teasing amongst them all have become a very common thing since their outing to the karaoke box and it felt nice knowing that they only meant the things they said some of the time.

"I hate to tell you Yuta but your ability to sense cursed energy sucks." Panda sighed.

"I figure its dulled with something like Rika inside you." Maki theorised, looking over her shoulder to make sure the two special grades had actually caught up with them.

"Tuna."

"Maybe it's the lack of experience." Kaori added with a slight shrug. "I mean we've all been in the Jujutsu world for a while and Yuta hasn't."

"I think I like Kaori's explanation better." Yuta murmured which made her smile.

The group carried on walking on, even carrying on when Kaori paused. Her eyes turned to the sky and she narrowed them. A faint glow of cursed energy was approaching and getting bigger and bigger very quickly.

"What the hell is that?" Kaori murmured.

Maki was the first to notice Kaori's pause and followed her gaze. "Well, that's unusual."
