A/N: consider this as my early Valentines gift to all you simps out there

Dolores was usually a calm person.

But one things got too loud, she'd need a break.

Lately, that'd be a hard thing to find, since normally everyone would be talking.

Of course there was only one voice that she'd pay attention to in the big crowd of sounds.

That belonged to none other than Y/N.

She was the only person Dolores would want to hear.

Unfortunately, no one else got the memo.

Always talking about their normal everyday stuff so loud that Dolores couldn't even make out Y/N's voice.

The audacity.

Sometimes, all the loud voices and sounds overlapping with each other was too overwhelming for Dolores. She yearned for a quiet place. A place where she could actually hear herself speak.

Luckily, Y/N can be a very helpful girlfriend at times, and when she heard from Camilo that she had been overwhelmed lately, she thought of a plan.

____

It was nighttime. One of the very few times that Dolores actually had peace and quiet (but was still never promised). The only sounds loud enough to hear were water rushing or leaves flowing.

That was until Dolores heard footsteps. Getting louder and louder.

Who the heck would be going for a walk in the middle of the night?

Dolores groaned, turning over to the side to press her pillow against her ears. A weak attempt to compromise her gift.

The footsteps only grew louder and louder, when Dolores heard a whisper, "Morning, my love."

Y/N would.

Dolores shot out of her bed and made her way to her bedroom window, pushing open the doors and stepping out onto the balcony. Looking down, Dolores could see Y/N on the ground, looking up at Dolores with a smile.

She wanted to be annoyed. Who wakes up their girlfriend in the middle of the night and says, 'Morning, my love.'?

Apparently Y/N does.

But one look at Y/N's smile and all of her anger melted away.

"Y/N," Dolores began, whisper shouting so Y/N could hear, "It's one in the morning. What are you doing?"

"Can you come down?"

"What?"

"Come down." Y/N pleaded, smiling up at her girlfriend.

"Are you crazy?"

"Please?"

Dolores sighed, knowing there was no other way to get Y/N to leave, "Fine."

Spinning on her heel, Dolores rushed out of her bedroom and down the stairs of Casita, careful not to wake anyone up.

Y/N was quick to envelop Dolores in a tight hug the second she walked through the doors.

"What are you doing up so late?" she whispered, pulling out of the hug after some time.

"Taking you out on a date, what else?" Y/N explained, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Dolores squinted at Y/N, trying to figure out what was going through her head, "What?"

"I said, I'm taking you out on a date." Y/N repeated, her smile widening.

"Why now? At 1am?"

"When else?"

"So many other times would've been better."

"It's not like you were asleep. And besides, I have something to show you."

Without another word, Y/N grabbed Dolores's hand, pulling her through the quiet and empty roads of Encanto.

"Where are we going?" Dolores asked through quiet laughter.

"It's a surprise." Y/N whispered, her wide smile growing with every step they took.

Dolores smiled at Y/N's behavior, holding her hand tight as they continued walking, when Y/N stopped and sat down at the top of a tall hill.

"Where are we?" Dolores asked, slightly out of breath from all the walking she had endured. Y/N however, seemed to lack no energy, and quickly sat herself down on the grassy ground.

Y/N smiled, "This is my special spot. It's where I always go when I have a bad day or something. So, I figured I could show you."

Dolores sighed, sitting down next to her girlfriend, "Camilo tell you?"

"Well, he didn't need to. You're my girlfriend, Dolores. I can tell when something's bothering you. But, why didn't you tell me?"

Letting her body fall back onto the ground, the Madrigal huffed, her eyes scanning the thousands of stars in the sky, "I don't know. I didn't wanna stress you out?"

"Hey," Y/N began, her voice quiet as she laid down beside Dolores, "You can always tell me anything, and I'll try my best to help you. That's what I'm here for, my love."

A smile graced Dolores's lips, "Thanks amor," she whispered, turning on her side so she was face to face with her partner, and able to place a quick kiss on her lips.

Hours passed, the two spent the night talking, laughing, and attempting to find constellations. The sky was a dark, pale blue, signaling that the sun would rise soon.

"We should probably get going soon." Dolores mumbled, a trace of disappointment in her voice.

Y/N shrugged, "Maybe."

A small smirk found it's way on Y/N's lips, earning a sigh from Dolores, "You're not gonna let me leave, aren't you?"

"To be fair, you can't just tell me you're overwhelmed by all the noise, let me take you to a spot where you can hear barely any noise, and then expect me to let you leave."

Dolores rolled her eyes, "Right, because I'm the one who made you take me here."

"Uh-huh." Y/N hummed, taking Dolores's hand and gently pulling her back to the ground.

"Amor, you're gonna have to let me leave eventually,"

"I don't think I can." Y/N whined jokingly, snaking her arm around Dolores's waist, "I think the townspeople will have to bare one day without you."

Dolores chuckled, a smile creeping up on her lips, "I love you, you know that, Y/N?"

Y/N smiled brightly at Dolores, leaning forward to place a quick kiss on her lips, "I love you too, Dolores."
