I was just a kid
The day they left me
On the doorstep of a stranger
As the rain drenched meI was just five
When they told me
They didn't want me anymore
And they left me
And the lightning roared at themI was ten
The first time I got hit
Completely destroyed me
And the thunder kept me companyI grew up then
And at the age of 16
I ran away
I took a small bag
With a bottle and a book
One filled with water
And the other with me.With the things that
Always showed me
That they cared for me
They weren't people
I knew that
But I also knew
That it was them or no oneCause no matter
How much noise
The thunder creates
To alert me of its presence,
No matter how much light
Lightning eminates
To show me my way
No matter how hard
The rain pours
The only thing that scares me
Is being alone.
