The Final Step

Hours passed and at that point you were sure the Traveler wasn't in Watasumi Island and Scaramouche hadn't written any letters back and he writes to you in less than atleast 2 hours but more had passed, you had no other choice but to go back to the Fatui base at Yashiori Island yourself and see if somethings going on and get new orders. You went to the nearest Fatui encampment near you and hopped on a waverider and set out to the main Fatui base at Yashiori island. You never mastered driving a waverider and forgot about the apparently never ending thunderstorm in Yashiori Island so getting there for you wasn't a smooth ride, let's say you almost sank the waverider multiple times but still managed.

Once you got to the beach of Yashiori Island you looked at the almost broken waverider and wondered how was it still sorta standing but you had to focus on the more important target. You turned around and ran as fast as you could to the base entrance but there were no guards this time normally there were two mirro maidens there, you thought nothing of it for now since you've barely been there the past few days and who knows if things changed a bit and you entered the base. Everything was silent and it looked gloomy at first, there was no one in sight, there's always the sound of people's talking but not this time, you were starting to get worried and thinking what if something happened here.

You went in deeper and started hearing the noises of a battle going on, you got closer and closer till you hit a door. You grabbed your delusion from your bag and opened the door, 'There you are, you made me search Watasumi Island practically whole and I couldn't find you, but here you are' you thought. The traveler was there in the middle of the training area beating up every Fatui Skirmisher, Cicn Mage, Pyro Agent and Mirror Maiden that approached him. It was amazing seeing him in action but it was also scary the thought of a single person winning against a bunch of people. You just watched in awe at the traveler and did nothing, you wish you could but you were scared to end up dead or badly hurt like your colleges down there. While making up your mind someone approached you from behind and touched your shoulder.

"AH!-" they put their hand over your mouth and you immediately realized who it was "Shut it bitch its just me". It was none other than Scaramouche, "I'll be taking charge from here, stay out of this and don't open the door" he took his hand out of your mouth and entered the room then shut the door. You wanted to take a peek but the door didn't have any holes big enough for you to see what is going on but you could hear a bit of what was going on, you heard the traveler mention you once or twice and Scaramouche saying things you couldn't understand well.

Moments passed and you heart the traveler screaming in an angry tone and you just wanted to know what was going on in there. Since you couldn't see anything you thought that opening the door a bit wouldn't hurt now would it? Its just a small peek so you opened the door a bit and saw the traveler and Paimon on one side and Scaramouche in front of them on the other side. You thought that he would see you but he didn't and you slowly made your wayinside the room and hid behind some wooden boxes, when you got a better look of what was going on you saw the room filled with some sort of purple smoke wich you thought was just electro or maybe Scaramouches elemental power nothing more.

A few more minutes went by and more of the same was happening, traveler mad at Scaramouche, Paimon telling the traveler to calm down and also being mad at Scaramouche but not as much as the traveler and Scaramouche having his was with words making the traveler mad. All the things he was saying must've had a reason to them and you were seeing the effect they were doing to the traveler suddenly the smoke from the room got more and more potent and the traveler fell unconscious.

Out of nowhere what looked like a shrine maiden appeared and started speaking with Scaramouche and Paimon more things you couldn't quite understand, everything was confusing, one word peaked your interest the most and it was "gnosis". You've never heard that word ever in your life and was curious to why Scaramouche wanted it so badly. After Scaramouche obtained what you thought looked like the "gnosis" the shrine maiden took Paimon and the traveler and disappeared again leaving Scaramouche alone in the room.

"Y/N I know you're behind those crates, you aren't good at sneaking into places, no wonder the traveler saw you behind that bush the other day when you told me through the letter"

"Am I really that bad?" You moved away from the crates and got closer to Scaramouche

"Yes. Yes you are."

"Well then that means I have something new to improve"

"Tell me why were you eavesdropping on my conversation with the traveler and Lady Yae"

"I was just really curious thats all. I promise I won't say anything to anyone!!!"

"Oh my Archons what am I going to do with you"

"Huh?"

"I bet you wanna know what a gnosis is right?"

"Yeah. What is it?"

"In short its a thing that gives the archons more elemental power and keeps them connected to celestia. That's all I know for now"

"So that's what the Lady Tsaritsa wanted you to get? Does this mean that the mission has been completed?"

"You could say that it's almost completed we did our part now Signora is here with us too, she's doing her own thing in Inazuma City"

"Why am I receiving all this information again?"

"Because I trust you won't tell anyone and if you do I will not hesitate to kill you and the person you told it to"

"You can count on me Mr. Scaramouche Balladeer sir, I won't tell anyone"

"Enough chat. Just because we got what the Lady Tsaritsa wanted dosent mean that this is over, we still have things to do here and ill be needing you later but in the meantime start helping the injured Fatui and don't do anything dumb"

After that be left and went back to his office to finish up the last things in he needed to plan in Inazuma

As always this is the end of this chapter I hope that everyone is doing ok with this new situation we have going on with the war and stuff and always stay positive except for covid tests. I've got nothing more to say right now so see you all in the next chapter!
