beauty and the beast

Throughout the whole summer, we spend every day together. No matter what, we are by each others sides, making sure to get as much as we can out of each other before August 23.

It goes by quickly but I make sure to make each day memorable and I enjoy it so much. We can barely even keep our hands off each other, and it's an amazing feeling to have someone who truly is so in love with every aspect of who I am and everything I do.

In June we went to the amusement park almost everyday, went hiking all the time, and searched for a car for me since I won't have anyone to drive me anymore.

In July, after the fourth and watching the gorgeous fireworks from the water tower, we spend it fixing the car with Michael and mom, uncle J and aunt Maxi coming down to see us and him ending up helping us.

Then, the last few weeks of summer come and we drive around through the towns, trying to find any new spots for us to hang out. And we all spend a few days together, enjoying our families being together for the last time in a while.

A few days before they have to leave, we have a nice dinner out at Ila's, all together for the last time and I love being with all of them. It's perfect.

"Here we are," mom says and we all look up to the dorm building, sighing. Everyone grabs a few things from the trunk and files up the stairs after getting his room key and get into the dorm.

"Wow," he says, looking at the empty but huge room. It's like an apartment and I widen my eyes at the sight, surprised a Freshman in college gets this nice of a place.

"Bro, you are going to wreck this place," I tell him with a laugh and he mocks me, rolling his eyes before placing his boxes down.

I go into his room, putting his stuff down and Harper follows me with her brother's boxes.

After a while of organizing their stuff that they brought and more stuff mom and Mrs. Locklift packed for them, we decide we need to leave to get home since it's a five hour drive.

"All right. Say your goodbyes," Mr. Locklift orders to us all and everyone gets into a tight hug.

Mom hugs both of them separately, and so does everyone else. I walk to Michael and hold him tight, and he kisses the side of my head, squeezing me.

"I love you so much," he whispers, and I smile.

"I love you too, dude." I back away and wait for everyone to get away from Cole.

"Hey, let's make sure there's no other boxes," Harper suggests, and everyone chuckles, knowing why she's actually saying that.

"Smooth," M whispers, leaving and everyone following, my mom last, giving us a look and I laugh. I quickly turn back to him, and he smiles awkwardly.

"So..." I trail off and he shrugs, stuffing his hands in his jeans pockets.

"Yup." We stay silent so I just walk forward, kissing him softly before backing away, willing my tears to go away.

"This kinda sucks." I sigh and he laughs, nodding.

"Yeah. It really does." He wraps his arms around me, pulling me in and I wrap mine around his shoulders, giving him a big hug.

"You're so amazing. I love you so much and I'm really gonna miss you," I whisper and he sniffles, nodding against my head as mine leans against his shoulder.

"I love you more, baby. I will be here no matter what and you can see me whenever," he assures, kissing my forehead and I lean away.

"I can't wait til I come over and we can hang out here and watch movies here," I say, walking through the whole apartment.

"It's gonna be amazing," he states, wrapping his arms around me from behind.

"I love you," I whisper, and as he says it back, I get a little scared about the next time we'll be like this. Together.

Because I can't lose him.
