"I'm not a regular guy! You know this. You know I'm not able to be home all the time and give you attention. So why are you being such a bitch?"
'Ouch,' you thought, taken aback by Chrollo's outburst.
It's rare that he yells at you, preferring to talk things out if there is ever an issue.
"Did you just call me a bitch, Chrollo?" You asked, disregarding everything else he said.
You weren't sure how to feel right now. On one end, you were pissed at him for calling you a bitch, but on the other end, the look he was giving you could kill.
"I did, because you're being an absolute bitch right now," he responded, taking a step towards you. "I am nothing but calm and patient with you, but of course, that's not enough."
You scoffed, "Calm and patient my ass. Is it wrong of me to want to spend a little time with my boyfriend? Is it, Chrollo? Because if it is then we might as we-"
"Don't go there."
"Why not? It's not like it would make a difference to your life," you sneered. "I never see you anyway, so what's it matter if we break up or not?"
The past 3 months Chrollo hasn't spent time at home with you. You've tried to be understanding, but how hard can it be to stay the night, just once.
For a moment, it was silent. Neither you or Chrollo daring to move, afraid that the next thing said will permanently end things.
You didn't want things to end, but you could only take so much.
"Tell me now, Chrollo. Are you going to put effort into this relationship or not? I can only take so much," you said, prepared to pack your things and leave.
Silence. Chrollo was saying nothing, and that answered your question.
You nodded, understanding that he was not capable of fixing things, "Alright."
"Wait! No, please don't go. What if you join the troupe? That way we can be together more often?" Chrollo proposed, desperate for you to stay.
"I should not have to become a criminal for you to love me like I deserve."
He was pissed, blocking the door so you were unable to leave, "You're not leaving until we fix things."
Chrollo appeared to be calm, but you knew him too well. The way his hands slightly shook, the way his posture faltered for a split second, he was falling apart.
"You don't control me."
You thought to push past him, knowing he would move out of your way if you did. Chrollo would never lay a hand on you and he'd never make you do anything you didn't want to.
"Please," his voice broke, eyes glassy as he denied the tears threatening to fall. You were his queen, and what was a king to do without his queen?
The bag you were holding moments ago fell to the floor with a soft 'thump'. You wanted things to work, but you also knew your self worth.
"One more chance, that's all you get. I don't ask for much, but a date once a week like we used to do would be nice." you said, resolve breaking. "I love you, I love you so much, but I can't stand not seeing or even hearing from you for months on end!"
Chrollo moved forward, wrapping you in his arms as you started to cry, "I just want things to be like they were when we first started dating. You treat me like a chore now."
You spent hours in his arms, crying and spilling your heart out to him. Even Chrollo had shed a few tears, promising to make things better.
"I'm sorry about what I said earlier, about you joining the troupe," he muttered, breaking the silence. "I'd never want you in that sort of danger because you felt like it was the only option."
A moment passed
"..and for calling you a bitch."
