It was eight a.m. when I woke up and my immediate thought was my dress. Then the excitement of the day kicked in and I started giggling uncontrollably.
"Morning bride!" Tanya said. "Excited?"
"Very. Oh, but Tan, what if he changes his mind?"
Tanya, sensing my anxiety growing, sat down next to me on the edge of the bed. "Zoe, listen. He loves you, I can see it in his eyes each time he looks at you. You have nothing to worry about."
Relaxing at her words, I stood up and began ticking things off on my fingers.
"So, we have until 2.30 p.m. to relax. Then the flowers come. At 2.45 the car comes, and at 3 the wedding starts."
Tanya grinned and stood up too. "There's my Zoe."
She led me downstairs. "Shut your eyes!"
I obeyed, and as she rested her hands on my back to push me forwards, she let me open them.
The table was home to waffles, pancakes, toast, everything. Darcy was sitting on a chair singing Let It Go and waving a spoon, which quickly delved deep into a bowl of cereal placed before her.
"Oh, wow! Thanks girls!" I hugged all three tightly, before Darcy demanded to be set free to eat her cornflakes.
"And, as a wedding present, all three of us are taking you to a spa for manicures, pedicures and to relax in a load of bubbly water!" Louise squeezed me harder.
I laughed. "This is the best wedding I'll ever have!"
"And the only wedding, God willing."
"Hey, Louise, if you catch the bouquet then we're all stuffed!" Tanya joked. Louise rolled her eyes.
After a large breakfast we set off at nine. It was a 40 minute journey to the spa and Louise drove. Because of traffic, we arrived at ten and had to rush for our appointment. But we made it with moments to spare.
"Four, please. Mani-pedi-spa, under Watson. For a wedding present."
The receptionist smiled. "Who's the lucky bride?"
"Zoe here."
The receptionist did a double take. "Zoella? My daughter's fourteen and she loves your videos. Would you do an autograph for her? Oh, and Louise and Tanya, she loves you too!"
I took the offered pen and paper, signed it and passed it along. Darcy did a wobbly 'D' and then kisses.
"Oh, thank you! This will make her day. Now, just round there, please."
We set off and emerged three hours later, having been relaxed, pampered and made to feel important. We all had red fingernails and toenails, and Darcy had a little white snowflake on each big toenail, after Elsa (Tasha for me, Ally for Tanya, Jilla for Louise and Elsa, who was blonde and thrilled Darcy) got talking to Darcy about Frozen and did the snowflakes to keep her happy. Louise quietly slipped her a fiver because it meant she wouldn't fuss for the next day or so because she had "Elsa nails".
We arrived home at two fifteen, so we had lunch, got into our dresses and did hair and makeup before the flowers arrived, a little late. The car came on time though, and we were off. I kissed my hand and placed it on the front door, knowing that the next time I saw it I would be married.
