"Goodmorning kiddo ready for the first day?" Mom always asked in the morning as soon as she opens the curtains in my room. One thing I wish I should've done was lock my room yesterday so my mom wont come barging in and disrupting my sleep, but oh well life is not fair is it? I finally had the energy to get up and rub my eyes looking angry at my mom.
"No" I said in my morning voice.
"Look Maya I know this is your tenth time moving to a new school- i know how it feels but please at least you know go make some friends on the first day" My mom does not know how hard it is to be the new girl on the block. People will make fun of you if you're lost, eventually you will be made fun off then im off to another school.
"If you leave right now I'll change" I flashed a fake smile to my mom and with that she bought it and left me alone to change.
Before I moved to this school I had the most perfect life ever, I had a boyfriend , good grades in the whole entire school, and friends who supported me and my condition. I have a kidney that does not work at all I went on numerous surgeries and mostly all the doctors say the same thing. 'She wont live long' or 'She's expected live about 5-9 years' and it was true.
No one realizes what you have until something terrible happens to you, thats when they regret the words that hurt you or the things they have done to you. How many suicides does it fucking take to realize that your words mean something?
As i met my mom in the car I looked at my neighbor to my right and noticed his fancy car and cheeky smile that girls would die for including me.
Without my realizing the time I was at school and my mom was hugging me and telling me to make many friends and to talk more to look more of a friendly person.
I climbed out of the van, slammed the door and walked to the office where they handed me my schedule and a map, this school was pretty big.
I started walking around looking lost until I bumped into a girl and guessing her boyfriend or friend because they looked really close.
"Hey watch i-"
"Oh my god are you new here?" The girl politely asked.
"Y- yeah" Remember stat calm and dont be rude.
"Sorry, I did not know anyways Im Danielle and this is my friend Zach" We all shook hands and Danielle looked at my schedule and it turns out that we have 3 periods together and Zach had only 1 class with me which was P.E.
"Is your name Maya?" A random kid shouted across the hallway. Wait. It was the same kid that I saw when I was on my way to school.
"Kian calm down, Kian this is- im sorry I never got your name" I let out a small chuckle and said my name while shaking Kian's hand. It turns out he was really well known in the school and im here shaking his hand.
After my encounter with Kian the bell rang and Danielle walked me to my first period.
"By the way if i were you I would not get my hopes up with Kian" Danielle said. With my curiousity I questioned her.
"Why? he seems really nice" I said in return.
"Maya just trust me... he's bad news. On the outside he may seem really kind but on the inside he's plain mean,no soul" Danielle gave me a hug and left since this was not the period I had her in.
I took in the seat that Mr. Rhode told me to seat and once people started coming after the bell, the person who sits next to me was Kian. Kian, the person that Danielle told me to already avoid.
"Oh, Hi Maya i did not know you had Biology first period" His cheeky smile was getting the best of me.
"Yeah well here I am" I smiled at him then looked at the board where we were supposed to take notes.
During class I would notice that once in a while Kian would look at me and stare for quite a bit but when I would look his way he looked really focus and taking notes.
"Okay Class I need someone to help Maya with the notes I want her to get caught up with my class." Mr. Rhode was searching the room for volunteers but no one was willing to volunteer.
"I'll do it Mr. Rhode" The whole class gasped in shock, whispers scattered throughout the room.
"Alright, lawley but are you sure you have writings on your paper" The class laughed.
"Yeah"
And with that conversation the class was over and just in time Danielle and Zach were ready to walk me to my next Class which was P.E.
"Oh shit I forgot Kian was in that class how did it go?" Danielle felt sorry.
"He's my study buddy" I talked, sounding sarcastically excited.
"You're gonna have sex any second, I bless your soul" Danielle said.
"Woah calm down"
Throughout the whole day school just ran how it should be but also I was slowly gaining friends and it turns out that this school is filled with wonderful people. Just minus Kian then yeah this school is filled with wonderful people.
At the end of the day mom texted me saying that I should walk home because we only live a few blocks.
I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Maya here's my notebook from Biology thought you might need it just dont lose it" Kian handed me the notebook gently and I took it with care.
"You need a ride home?" He asked with his hands in his pocket.
"No I dont pfft it just a couple of miles" I said. Suddenly my breathing shortened and my vision was turning black.
My eyes would open once in a while and all i was Kian looking into me and yelling at the doctors.
"Just hold on Maya, just hold on"
