Today was the day of Josh's family cookout. I was really excited to see mama Sandra. She was like a second mother to me. She's always there for me when my workaholic mother isn't.
I checked myself in the mirror one last time before running out of my apartment. Trey had been waiting for me for 20 minutes. I was planning on being early this time, but I wanted to dress appropriate for a cookout, but sexy enough for Trey.
I hopped inside Trey's car and put my seat belt on. "Hey baby." I greeted and grabbed his face to kiss him. Trey and I are usually together, but I haven't seen him since that night at the studio.
Trey followed the directions that I was giving to him in order to get to Josh's family cookout.
"Hey Josh." I hugged him. "Where's mama?" I asked Josh once I released him from the hug.
"I don't know." He said before walking off.
I rolled my eyes and went to sit down, but Trey pulled me down, making me sit down on his lap.
Suddenly, we heard a loud scream. Trey and I both turned in the direction of the scream. When I turned, my eyes met with Josh's sister, Justine.
Justine was a nice girl, but there was something about her, that made me not trust her.
I didn't want her to come over here, because from what Josh tells me, she's a big fan of Trey Songz.
"Hey Gia. How have you been? I haven't seen you in forever." She said as she walked over here and extended her arms for a hug. At any other of Josh's family events, we barely even speak. We just greet each other and go about our day, but today, she wants conversation and a hug.
I stood up to hug her, and it felt really awkward. Once I pulled away from the hug, I sat back down on Trey's lap.
"Gia, are you going to introduce me?" She asked.
I never responded. I didn't need her to try to flirt with my man.
"I'm Justine." She took the opportunity to introduce herself.
"I'm-"
"I know who you are." She smiled. "Okay bye Gia. Have a great time."
I watched as she walked away, purposely trying to make her butt look bigger for Trey, but he wasn't even paying attention.
I knew Justine had to be up to something, but I shook it off.
"I'll be right back." I told Trey.
I stood up from Trey's lap and walked into Josh's parents' home. I walked into the kitchen and there was Josh's mama.
"Hey mama." I hugged her.
"Hey Gia."
"Mama, you okay?" I asked. I noticed that she was just staring out the kitchen window at everyone.
"I'm fine." She replied, but it was easy to tell that she wasn't.
"You know you can tell me if-"
"Gia, I'm fine."
"Okay, well I'll see you later."
I walked out of the kitchen, but before I made it out of the house, someone grabbed my waist.
"Trey, what are you doing?"
"This isn't Trey." The person whispered in my ear.
Since it wasn't Trey, I knew exactly who it was. I turned around and was face to face with Josh's younger brother, Jordan.
Jordan has had a crush on me since forever. I never gave him a chance because he was five years younger than I was. Instead of turning him down completely, I told him to see me when he turns 21.
Now that he's 21, I'm with Trey so he doesn't have a chance.
"Wassup Gia?"
"Hey Jordan."
"You know I'm 21 now right?" He asked.
"Yes, Jordan, I know."
"So, wassup wit' us?"
I sighed. "Jordan, I'm not single anymore."
"He don't gotta know." He whispered.
I smiled. "Sorry Jordan. But if it doesn't work out, you'll be the first person I call." I lied.
"Alright." He released his grip on my waist.
I walked back outside, and sat down in the chair next to Trey, who was currently eating."What took you so long?" He asked.
"Talking with mama Sandra." I partially lied.
"I made you a plate." He handed me a plate that was sitting in his lap.
"Thank you." I smiled then kiss him. When I pulled away, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jordan staring at us.
~~~
The rest of the time at the cookout was spent eating and talking to Josh's family members. The entire time, I knew that Jordan and Justine were staring at us.
Instead of saying something to them, I just ignored it and continued doing what I was doing.
Since I was tired after the cookout, instead of getting Trey to drop me off at my apartment, I just spent the night with him.
