Chapter 3: His Letters

Today, Lauren said that someone left an envelope on her desk with my name on it. When she gave it to me, I was a little scared to open it, but once I did open it, I realized that it was just another Ask Ms. G letter. But this one wasn't like all the other letters that I had received.

Dear Ms. G

There's this girl, that I bumped into about a week ago. She's beautiful and I can't stop thinking about her. And yesterday, I ran into her again at her job. I want to get to know her better, but she won't me. I can tell that she's been hurt deeply in the past, but she just won't let me get to know her better. I've never felt this way about someone before, and I NEED to get to know her. Should I keep trying to break her protective shell or should I just give up? Please help me, Ms. G.

Does he really want to get to know me? What's so special about me?

I really needed some advice about this, so I asked Josh. He thinks that I should just ignore him, and he'll give up, but that's only because he doesn't want to see me hurt like the way I was before. Every since the incident, Josh has become protective over me. Josh was the one who was over at my apartment wiping my tears.

Then, I asked Lauren. She thinks that I should give him a chance, but that's only because she's been a fan of Trey Songz since he had braids.

"Not only should you give him a chance, you should definitely put this in this week's magazine. It will be great, since he's going to be on the cover." Lauren suggested. Lauren was my assistant, but she was also a good friend. She was the person I came to when I needed help on things that Josh couldn't help me on.

"Lauren, I can't put this in there. What if someone realizes that he wrote the letter? Or even worse, what if someone realizes that he wrote it for me?"

"No ones gonna realize. But if you don't want to put it in there, then don't, but I just thought it would be a great idea.

"Thanks, Lauren."

After thinking about it for what seemed like forever, I finally decided that putting Trey's letter in the next edition would be good for our ratings.

I stared at my computer screen, thinking of a response to Trey's letter.

Dear Trey S.,

I know from experience, that when people get hurt, they think that everyone around them is going to hurt them too. Some people don't like to be pressured into that type of stuff, which is what I think your doing. So just back off for a while, because maybe her wounds are still fresh and she doesn't want to rush into anything. Just be her friend first, and maybe then, she'll want to get to know you better as much as you want to get to now her.

"Lauren, can you come here, please?" I spoke through the speaker thing. Within a few moments, Lauren walked through my door.

"Yep?"

"Read this, and tell me if its good."

After reading the letter to Trey, she looked up at me, "It's good." She said. She looked as if she wanted to say something, but decided against it.

After work, I decided to invite Josh over. At least once a week, I'll invite Josh and Lauren over and we'll watch movies together all night, but tonight Lauren said she couldn't make it.

The entire time, I couldn't concentrate on any of the movies, becaue I could only thing about Trey's letter.

The Next Day

 As soon as I got off the elevator, to my floor, I immediately saw him. I had no idea what he was doing here, since he did his interview yesterday.

I walked to my office, not even acknowledging him.

In the middle of beginning to read the new letters that had came in this morning, he entered my office.

"Do you not know how to knock?" I asked rudely.

Without even saying anything, he slid me an envelope, smiled, and walked out of my office.

Dear Gia,

Did you read the letter that I sent you? I really want to get to know this girl. Will she be able to meet me at that new French restaurant at 6:00 pm tomorrow?

I contemplated if I should meet him or not, but then again, I don't want to be rude and stand him up.
