Third Person Perspective

Would you crumble before even bothering to rise up from the ashes and make a better world?

Caitlin stood in the med bay trying whatever she could but nothing seemed to work.

The young girl they all looked at wasn't okay. She was dying but nothing was helping the young girl and she didn't know why.

She tried using a scalpel, she tried using her machines but nothing worked. It was as if this little girl was invulnerable to everything.

Caitlin looked up seeing Iris standing beside the bed. Caitlin could see that Iris was worried for this little girl.

Iris looked over at Caitlin and her worry turned to curiosity.

Iris: Can you help her?

Caitlin looked at Iris shaking her head. Not because she couldn't but she didn't know how or why she was like this. She didn't know why she was so invulnerable.

Caitlin: As far as I can tell she's in a coma like state. And I'm not sure if I can bring her out of it.

Joe: What are we gonna do?

Barry: We talk to the one who made her like this.

Barry like a man faced with his past turned around not saying anything else and walked into the pipeline.

Barry walked over to the panel that was connected to the pipeline. He presses the small screen as the large metal door opens up.

He stands in front of the cell not showing any emotion towards the one trapped inside.

Ben stood there with his back turned away and his hands on the wall.

Ben: Well it's about time. Isn't it, Barry Allen?

Barry: How are you alive? The wraiths, they took you.

Ben laughs slightly as he turns around to meet the scarlet speedster who wasn't in his suit.

Ben: For a man who conceals his identity, you surely pick the wrong time not to wear your suit.

Barry: Who's the little girl?

Ben: That's my business now isn't it?

Barry: Are you just gonna answer a question with a question?

Ben laughs again as he spins around.

Ben: This zoom...he took someone from you, I take it.

Barry: Yeah.

Ben: And you believe I'm him.

Barry: You're wearing his suit.

Ben: Ah, well things are looking down then aren't they?

Barry: You know I have a lot more problems to deal with like a big bad with a smart mind, so just tell me how to fix the little girl and I'll be on my way.

Ben: You can't fix her.

Barry: What'd you do to her?

Ben turns around remembering what had happened on his earth just before he had to escape the feeling of his daughters death lingered over his mind but luckily with her speed healing she still had some time left.

Ben: You'd never believe me.

Barry: I've seen a lot of things over the years so try me.

Ben: I've seen men of steel rise and dark knights fall but nothing fails into comparison over the destruction I've seen. That young girl down in their is the last I have.

Barry looked at the man and though he couldn't see his face as the mask covered it fully Barry started to realize just who this young girl was.

She wasn't some lost lonely little girl this man found and took in. She wasn't some prize he won doing some revenge scheme.

No...no...she was his daughter but how? Zoom never had a daughter Barry thought to himself as he got closer.

Barry: What happened to your daughter? How can we save her?

Ben looked at Barry a man who on his earth he had called a brother. He was the closet thing Ben had to family and he was gone but on this earth it seemed liked Barry didn't know Ben.

There wasn't a mention or a face to go along with what seemed like the perfect family.

Ben hit closer under his mask his eyebrows raised.

Ben then realized that this Barry was genuinely trying to help.

Ben puts his hand inside his suit pocket digging for the thing he planned to use before the team had interrupted him but he couldn't find it.

Ben then started to panic.

Ben: Where is it?

Barry: Where's what?

Ben: The thing.....

Ben started to breathe heavily as his daughters life was even more so hanging in the balance then before.

Ben: It's the only thing that can save her. Where is it? Where is it?

And without hesitation Bens mask came off as he looked at Barry and in that moment Barry knew this man to not be zoom.

Barry: Your not zoom.

Ben: Of course I'm not. Where's the rock?

Barry: What rock?

Ben: No, no. No. No!!!!!

And Ben knew right there that the one thing that could potentially save his daughter slipped away through seem less vast emptiness that was his fingertips. Where did it go? Ben could only look at Barry who started to walk away.

Ben: Where are you going? Hey!

Barry turns around taking in the desperate pleads in the man's tone of voice. Barry then walked in closer.

For some reason Barry still couldn't trust this man.

Even after seeing his face and knowing he wasn't the man who killed his father he still couldn't trust that he wouldn't betray them given the right opportunity.

Barry: I'm gonna figure out how to save your daughter.

Ben: You can't! You need the rock!

As Ben started shouting the echoes even though stuck in a cell still could be heard as if he was on a mountain screaming from the top of it.

Barry walked away choosing not to trust the man who stood in the cell screaming for the life off his daughter, closing the cell door Barry took one last look at the man as the door closed.

As he turned around and started walking away, Barry then felt his shoe step on something. He looked down seeing a green rock just beneath the floor of the pipeline.

Barry kneeled down opening the base of the floor as he picked up the green rock.

He stood up looking back at the cell door and realized that maybe the man was right. Could this be what he lost?

Was the rock the key to saving his little girl?
