Third Person Perspective

Why can't we live like this everyday?

Earth-38

Things seemed normal, for even just a little bit as Ben, Kara and Emilia walked down the streets of National City each holding an ice cream cone that seemed to melt with every passing second.

The blue blitz smiled as Emilia held his and Kara's hands. Maybe things were perfect, like nothing could ruin what they have going. But Ben knew it wouldn't last. He knew this Kara wasn't the one he had married or the one he shared a bed with at night.

The three turned a corner walking in synch as Emilia licked her ice cream but it started to melt.

She looked up at her dad seeing how he wasn't looking at her and then used her ice breathe to freeze the ice cream just a little bit.

Ben had looked over at Kara, seeing her lip was covered with ice cream, he smiled and took his finger and wiped it off getting a blush from the kryptonian though she tried to hide it as best she could.

The trio arrived in the park and it sounded as though birds were chirping, every other kid in the park played together or separately and Emilia couldn't to play with them.

Emili: Can I go play?

Ben: Yeah, go on.

Ben grabbed the ice cream from Emilia and allowed to run and play with the other kids.

Ben and Kara moved to the bench and sat down as Kara couldn't help but to just look at Ben.

Ben: What?

Kara: I don't know. It's just doesn't anything bother you? I mean....your so good at...

Ben: Hiding it? Yeah, I mean, I have to be for Emilia. If I even give her the slightest feeling of sadness she gets sad and I don't like seeing her sad so I have to be strong for her even if I'm not.

Kara: Wow.

Ben: What?

Kara: Your like the best dad.

Ben: That's not true at all. I make mistakes as I'm sure every other dad does.

Kara: Well, your the best dad that I know.

Emilia ran around the park with the other kids, she knew she wasn't normal, that she had powers but for an instant it didn't matter. All she wanted was friends to call her own and she finally had that.

She laughed and ran and played with the other kids holding onto what a normal childhood should be.

Turning around the swings, Emilia didn't quite pay attention as she ran into a boy which due to her strength made him fall down to the ground and every kid there laughed.

Emilia: Are you all right? I didn't mean to do that.

The little boy sat up, a tiny bit of blood fell from his nose as he looked up at the girl in front of him.

???: You could have broken my nose.

Emilia: I said sorry.

The little boy stands up looking down at his shirt with what had just a little bit of blood on it.

???: Look at what you did to my shirt you little freak.

One of the boys friends who had a name tag that read "Kyle." on it looks at him.

Kyle: Jack stop.

Jack: No, Kyle. She's not just gonna run into me and think she can get away with it. Didn't your mother ever teach you manners?
