Chapter 6: A Revealed Truth

Why are you all so incompetent?

Both teams slowly entered the med bay and are greeted with the sight of a distressed and upset Emilia.

Emilia: I want my daddy.

Iris steps forward taking in the sad sight of the young girl who had just woken up from her coma like state.

Iris: It's okay, who is your dad we will call him?

Emilia: His name is Ben, he was the man who brought me here.

The members of team flash with the exception of Barry exchange guilty looks, they had attacked and imprisoned a man who only wanted to get his dying child help.

As the team gets deeper into the room Caitlin moves to look at a screen allowing the team supergirl to now be visible.

Emilia sees them and goes wide eyed before crying hysterically. Everyone is shocked at the response causing Caitlin to order everyone out of the room. She remains and calms the girl down leaving everyone else to be confused.

Kara: Barry what is going on?

Alex: Yeah I'm with Kara. Who is that little girl?

Barry: We had a man turn up with her bleeding and dying, we had a fight and he beat most of us. We only stopped him when Iris got lucky with a cold gun, he's currently locked in the pipeline. But apparently he wasn't lying and that's his daughter.

They all look at Barry with different looks, some with confusion, curiosity and two with annoyance. Them both being Harry and Joe.

Joe: Wait, you knew he was this little girls father and you said nothing?

Barry: He could be lying, I was playing it safe.

Harry: You should of told us, all you achieved now is a man locked in a cage not sure if his daughter is alive.

Some of the others now started to look at the scarlet speedster and judge Barry, causing him to defend himself.

Barry: I didn't just ignore him, i had to keep you all safe. Don't you guys remember what zoom did? What the reverse flash did? What Savitar did? I couldn't let him out knowing that possibly he could just be another speedster with a vendetta and besides I listened to him about the rock.

Brainy: Rock?

Cisco: Barry came into the room with a green rock and it stared to glow, we were able to cut her and save her life.

Alex and Kara both share a knowing look, however before they could question it the argument continued.

Joe: How could you? He must be devastated.

Barry: He looked like Zoom, I didn't want to take the chance.

Harry now stepping closer as Barry holding his ground stood there knowing that all he wanted to do was keep everyone safe.

Harry: But why keep things from us, we are a team Allen!

Barry: I was scared you guys would believe him and let him out.

Joe now losing his patient with Barry steps in between the two.

Joe: And we would have been right, he did nothing wrong. What if it was your child Barry? What if it was you in that cell right now? If your daughter was possibly dying and you not knowing if she was okay?

Iris sensing an argument decided to step in and suggest that they all go down to the pipeline and see Ben.
