As D'Vorah walks away to get the Kahn the blond turns to the monk named Jin in anger.

"You want to take this opportunity to tell us what the fuck you were thinking?!"

"I got to wonder why you'd risk inter-realm war for a bread thief." The other man asked him and honestly, I was wondering the same.

"Because not all thieves are irredeemable."

The two women on their team seemed dissatisfied with Jin's answer but he didn't seem to care. The blond leader's arm seemed to be bleeding a lot probably from her fight with Ferra and Torr. I quickly take a bandage that was on my belt for emergencies and go to hand it to her.

"No one comes close until the Kahn arrives" I was stopped by one of the guards who I completely ignored and simply passed by after all he doesn't get paid enough to care when the Kahn isn't around.

"Here". I said and extended the bandage to the leader. The whole team looked at me confused or as if I was a ghost but eventually the leader took the bandage from my hands.

"Thanks, I guess?"

I nodded and headed away from the group. Expecting the Kahn to be here any minute I put some distance between me and them but far away where I could still hear their conversation and eventually Kotal Kahn came to see them himself. I went close to Erron and listened in as the Earthrealm leader introduced herself as Cassie Cage and proceeded to explain that Outworld refugees made their way to Earthrealm.

"Are you alright?" I asked Erron looking at his bruised face and arms.

"I'll be fine, I've been through worse"

"I'm sorry I didn't help"

"You're not getting paid to do that plus I know you don't like the executions. I'm just glad you didn't turn against us. I've seen enough of what you do to those dummies behind your house to know that I don't want to fight you."

I hummed in happiness knowing someone else thought I was improving my fighting skills but after I focused on the conversation out of curiosity.

"Your news of refugees is troubling. Their exodus to Earthrealm was not known to me. I do know this: I invited no guests from Earthrealm. Certainly, none would disrupt the execution of justice. How do I know you are not allied with Mileena? Perhaps her newfound power has earned her new friends?"

"Friends? No. No! We're not even sure that's Shinnok's Amulet that she has-"

"She employs Shinnok's Amulet against me?! The very item Earthrealm swore would be safe in its care?! When Outworld was offered no participation!"

As soon as Kotal Kahn raised his voice I realized that negotiations were taking a turn for the worse and so did Jin who stepped in front of Cassie and interjected.

"Kotal Kahn... The Fire that Burns the Sun. We are here because we share your concerns about the missing item. We intend no ill against your rule."

"At least one Earthrealmer can forge words like silver. But I recall an Earthrealm expression: "There is more honor among thieves than diplomats."

"I've had the questionable fortune to be both, Emperor. But I'm telling you the truth."

"You are allied with Mileena. You may carry out your sentence." The Kahn said without hesitation at that moment Jin who I assumed must have been very well versed in Outworld law challenged the Kahn to a duel to absolve themselves of all accusations. They fought but miraculously Jin was doing pretty well against the Kahn, I was impressed. Facing down an Osh-Tekk warrior at full strength is no easy feat, and it seemed to take all of Jin's speed and skill in the battle to hang in there. After what seemed like a lifetime, Jin finally powered through Kotal Kahn's strength and left him down on the ground, defeated.

"And now, Emperor?"

"The charges against you are void. I say to all, that Earthrealm means Outworld no harm."

Jin decided to claim Kahn's service instead of his life. Finding it better if they worked together to defeat Mileena. As everything was resolved I made my way to the marketplace in hopes to get at least some of the groceries I needed before Ashrah returned and then I went home.
