The team and I made our way to the portal which they didn't waste time opening and going through. On the other side, we see three revenants talking with D'Vorah. We quickly hide and creep up behind a wall overlooking a crevice as D'Vorah speaks with the revenants about Shinnok. As they talk Kung Jin missteps and some stones crumble under his feet and fall into the crevice below thankfully Takeda and Cassie stop Jin from falling as well.
"Have you found Raiden's portal to the Heavens?" We look back to the revenants to find two more have joined them.
"Yes, but his wards protect it. We can't break through."
"That is unacceptable. After Earthrealm is destroyed, we must complete Lord Shinnok's vengeance and invade the Heavens and destroy the Elder Gods."
"Come." The three male revenants walk off and D'Vorah walks back into the temple leaving the two revenants alone. As we creep along the wall, a rock comes loose from where Takeda puts his foot. Unlike Kung Jin before him, the rest of us are unable to catch him and he falls, just barely grabbing into the crevice edge in time.
"Takeda!" Jacqui calls out and reaches her hand for Takeda to grab. I look back at the revenants who notice the noise. Realizing we've been spotted, I spring out of cover, running forward and engaging in combat, Cassie and Jin coming to back me up. Kung Jin swings his staff at one of them as Cassie and I fend off the other's strikes. Suddenly Kung Jin yells out as he is flung backward. I quickly throw myself behind him trying to catch his fall but we both end up crashing into the large gong in the temple courtyard, hitting my head in the process. We both pass out from the collision. As I once again open my eyes I see Kung Jin pulling himself to a seated position as Cassie rushes over to Takeda and motions for Jin to help Jacqui. Realizing the situation is dire, Jin does as he's told. Cassie helps Takeda to his feet while he is holding his abdomen, which is bloodied.
"Messed you up pretty bad" Cassie comments which Takeda jokes about.
"Ugh, great bedside manner. I can fight." Cassie puts his arm around her shoulder to support him. They walk over to Jin and Jacqui, who is sitting down and holding her wounded shoulder.
"Jacqui?"
'It's nothing. Just like Kurdistan." We hear someone call out in Chinese. We turn around and spot the three male revenants from before who have come back and noticed what we did to their comrades. As they run towards us Takeda turns to Cassie.
"You two go. Jacqui and I'll handle them."
"What?"
"We'll just slow you down."
"Forget it!"
"I'll stay with them, now go!" I say ending the little argument as the revenants were almost in front of us.
"Damn it. Keep your heads down. I'll see you on the other side." Cassie says and nods to Jin as they take off into the Temple. As soon as they leave the two female revenants that were knocked out, rise and attack us again with the others.
Takeda takes on the two females as Jacqui takes on a revenant ninja and a monk with an odd hat. That left me with the last revenant with a red bandana that looked pissed. I take my double swords and attack but find that my skill is inferior to his and his speed. As I take many blows I go to block with my swords one of his upcoming punches when suddenly his hand burns red with a fire effectively breaking my swords and punching me, sending me flying to the ground. As I try to get up I see my kunai on the ground in front of me and a few ways behind it some rope. I get an idea and quickly grab both and tie the rope tight around the hoop of the kunai. As I hear the revenant slowly walk behind me I turn around and throw the kunai into his shoulder catching him off guard then using the rope to pull him towards me punching him in the face and knocking him out. I quickly go to aid the others when suddenly the bloody-looking sky becomes blue once more stopping everyone from fighting. Realizing that they failed one of the revenants exclaims that they should withdraw and just like that they open a portal and leave-taking the knocked-out revenant with them. Takeda puts a hand on Jacqui and they both walk over to the temple, sitting down near a giant statue, completely exhausted. I needed a minute alone to relax and gather my bearings so head off limping to the side of the temple and sit alone on a bench unseen by both Takeda and Jacqui. I let out a breath of exhaustion as tears start falling down my face, my mind overwhelmed with everything that has happened. From Ashrah's death to see my father alive, hell we practically saved the world here. I sigh in pain clenching my silver necklace in thought. 'What do I do now Mr. Kaire?'
My thoughts were disturbed by voices coming from the front of the temple. I turn to see a bunch of SF soldiers and Cassie's mother leading them.
"Team 'A' search for any demons or revenants that were left behind. Medic helps Takeda and Jacqui, the rest follow me." She said and headed inside the temple.
As she leaves another portal opens with the grand master of the Lin Kuei and some of his men stepping out of it. After one of the soldiers informs the Grandmaster about the situation he sends his men to search the place and one of them finds me.
"You there remove the hood!" He calls out and I cooperate. After seeing that I'm no revenant he tries to help me stand which I refuse.
"Don't touch me!" I yell which catches the attention of the Grandmaster. He comes towards us and asks what the problem is. To which the Lin Kuei soldier informs him that I'm refusing treatment for my wounds.
"What is your name?"
"..." I didn't answer his question. Hearing my silence and sensing my distrust he comes up with a solution that pleases me.
"Would you accept help if it was from an SF medic?"
"Yes..."
"Very well" He says and leaves with the Lin Kuei medic behind him. Moments later another soldier-medic arrives and treats my wounds. After he finishes he tells me that it would be best to join the others. I comply and put my cloak and hood over myself once more. I head to the front of the temple to see everyone there. Jacqui, Takeda, and another man in dark clothing are being taken away on stretchers. As a medic is looking over Cassie, Jin is talking to the general. Feeling out of place and not knowing what to do I eye the portal behind me.
'Should I go?' I ask myself but my trail of thought gets broken when I feel someone hugging me. I turn to see Jin hugging me and Cassie coming in as well.
"I thought you died or something when we didn't see you, you idiot" Cassie exclaims letting go in the process same with Jin.
"Where did you go?"
"I needed a minute alone" I said and the duo nodded not asking any further questions.
"You there."
I look behind Cassie to see her mother, the general looking at me, eyeing me suspiciously for a second before her expression calmed down, and came to talk to me.
"Cassie and Jin told me we have you to thank as well, you didn't have to help save a realm you're not from but I'm happy you did"
"Actually, I am originally from Earthrealm just lived in Outworld until now."
"And now you'll be staying here too since you can't go back to Outworld" Jin chimes in somewhat happy that I'm staying and I nod to him.
"We'll be happy to help you start a new life as compensation once we get things in order" The general said and I thanked her before she left to tend to other matters Cassie followed close behind her leaving me and Jin to talk.
"So are you planning on heading back to the Shirai Ryu as you said with Takeda?"
"Shh! Not so loud... and I'm not sure..."
"What, why not?"
"The situation has changed a bit" I say and take him somewhere where we won't be heard. I explain to him the situation with my father and he stares at me with wide eyes.
"You're kidding..." He said astonished.
"Is he the one from the old Shirai Ryu like Takeda said?"
"Yes"
"Is his name Hanzo Hasashi?"
"Yes"
"Then he's my father. I am Satoshi Hasashi" I said and then Jin snapped out of his shocked state.
"Then that's more reason for you to reach out to him"
"Would you react well to someone from your family, who you thought dead for over a decade coming back from the dead?"
"I'm not sure..."
"Well let me tell you that when I saw him at the SF camp I almost had a heart attack!" I said and Jin sighed. He managed to convince me not to jump to conclusions and stay low until Takeda gets better and I could talk to him about it.
