The Lost child Mkx Satoshi Story

Part 9

We go through the portal to find what appears like an army camp surrounded by giant shipping containers. But when we were fully through we noticed a bunch of people on the ground hurt everyone rushed to someone to help them and check for injuries. I saw Cassie help someone that looked just like her but older realizing that was her mom. The general sat up and tried to speak as Cassie called out to her only for her to pass out after saying the name Shinnok. I froze not knowing what to do. I looked around confused and terrified until another man that was on the ground sneaked up.

"Your father... Shinnok's prisoner... at the Sky Temple" He could barely say a full sentence but instead of focusing on his words, I focused on him. My father? But how? These thoughts plagued my mind the longer I stared at him. Eventually, I snapped out of it and we took everyone to the med bay. After that, we hastily got into a plane and fly off toward the sky temple.

"We land in fifteen minutes. We'll enter the Sky Temple from the terrestrial entrance." Cassie informs earning confused stares from both of me and Takeda who asks. 

"Why not go straight there?"

"It exists in a different quantum state, slightly out of phase from our reality. It can't be reached by conventional means." Jin explains and I nod but Takeda breathes out a heavy sigh, which Jacqui notices.

"What?"

"It's just us. No one's coming to help. We either pull this off or-"

"We WILL get it done." Cassie interrupts. Just then Warning buzzers sound off through the plane. We look ahead to see the once-grey sky slowly becoming red.

"What is that?" I ask as Jin lets out a prayer

"Elder Gods have mercy"

"Don't know. But it's headed right for us." Takeda informs as the plane suddenly shakes.

"Buckle up, people! I gotta put her down." Jacqui says as she tries to land the plane thankfully she landed it without crashing, and the team exited without issue. As I exit I notice the corrupted light from the clouds above us has given the forest a distinctly red hue making it kind of creepy looking.

"Looks like the temple entrance is fifteen clicks that way." Jacqui points off to the distance.

"A moonlight walk in the woods. Another time, it'd be relaxing." Takeda says next to her. As they continue to flirt- I mean chat I head towards the wing of the plane where Cassie and Kung Jin are looking over the damages on the plane.

"Fuck me! We're grounded. That shockwave fried the leads." Cassie informs and Jacqui says that we should get going then. Just then a portal opens not so far from us and from it Kotal Kahn and his army step out.

"What are they doing here?" Jin questions and Jacqui quickly answers

"Looking for the amulet, I bet."

"We have to tell them about Shinnok. Call a truce." Takeda proposes but gets quickly shut down when Kotal spots us. He points in our direction with his macuahuitl and addresses his soldiers.

"Bring them to me!" His soldiers roar out battle cries and charge forward.

"Or not." Cassie exclaims and Jacqui snaps us from our trance

"The woods! C'mon!"

We head deeper within the woods and hide from the army as we all stand behind trees I see Cassie getting ready to throw something I along with Jin ready our bows and at the first explosion, all hell broke loose. Cassie, Jacqui, and Takeda threw bombs at the tall trees effectively making them collapse onto the fleet as Jin and I shoot down the shocked soldiers that haven't been crushed. Eventually, though the fleet gets a grasp on the situation and chases us down. With my bow now useless in close combat I take out my double swords and make them burn hot with my fire powers making the fleet in front of me falter a bit before they attack. Although I manage to beat most of them their numbers eventually become more than I can handle and they surround me along with Cassie, Jacqui, and Jin. Ferra and Torr stomp back into the fray, with Takeda's bound body in Torr's arms. Torr lifts him up and throws him toward us. He lands hard as Ferra laughs and Jacqui helps him to his feet.

"Don't know about you guys, but I'm living the dream."

"You have odd dreams" Takeda comments on Jacqui's statement.

As Kotal calls to his soldiers in the Outworld tongue to kill us they begin to close in. Ferra and Torr charge forward but are suddenly frozen solid by an ice blast. More blasts follow, freezing the soldiers who come too close to us. We look in the direction where the blast came from to see a man wearing Lin Kuei armor with ice on his hands motioning for his own fleet to attack Kotal's. We make a run for it and reach him but I kept my distance when they were talking.

"You stood together against formidable odds. Lesser warriors would not have fared so well."

"Thanks, Grandmaster."

"I will remain here to push Kotal Kahn back to Outworld. Proceed to the Sky Temple. Earthrealm's fate lies with you." Said the Grandmaster and headed off toward the battle as we went on our way.
