Lonely Desert

The first exam part 2

Y/n's POV:

Getting tired of waiting around for the exam to begin, I silently walked up to Gaara and loosely leaned on him. He sighed and glanced at me with a confused gaze.

"Can I help you Y/n?" Gaara questioned boredly. Shaking my head and closing my eyes I leaned further into him. I could feel the stares of the other competitors but chose to ignore it, they could think we were together for all I care.

"Nah, just stay where you are and tell me if you get uncomfortable, yeah?" I said giving him a closed eye smile whilst I rested my arms across me chest. He sighed again but made no attempt to move and he glared at anyone looking our way.

Before long, the agonising scream was heard from Kabutos little snake mouth, as he doubled over in pain covering his ears which were now bleeding out. 'Thank Kami for those Sound Ninjas getting some revenge for me' I thought, trying to hold back a maniacal laugh. My team as well as the rest of the room turned their attention to the screaming idiot, although Gaara and myself paid him no mind as the others looked at him in horror. Not like I haven't seen people suffer before. I've seen people die at my own hand, a little blood is nothing compared to that. The sound ninja held massive smirks on their sly faces at their work. I hated Kabuto so this was a very enjoyable situation to look at, compared to being bored waiting for the already late proctor.

Suddenly there was a loud slam and the doors flew open, out stepping the devil himself, Ibiki Morino. "NOW LISTEN UP YOU BRATS! THERE WILL BE NO FIGHTING BEFORE THE EXAM UNLESS YOU HAVE BEN GIVEN PERMISSION BY YOUR PROCTOR!!" Ibiki yelled out. "Anyway, I'm Ibiki Mornino, the Proctor of the first exam. The written part of this exam. Now, one by one you will each come and retrieve a number. Then, and only then that you will enter the lecture hall where you will be given the test and seated in your designated position." Ibiki yelled before explaining what was required of us to make the process run smoothly. Naruto's eyes widened at the sound of a written exam, if I'm being honest I was kinda nervous too but I didn't let that show through. I really wanted to explain the test to Naruto, but I didn't want to seem more suspicious than I already was. He would be okay, worst case scenario, I can use Suzuki to communicate with him.

After reaching the basket and drawing a number, I headed towards the doors where I looked at the content on it, 12.

I then began to walk into the massive room which looked more like a  lecture hall, and took my assigned seat. I was seated next to a civilian genin I didn't know, and yours truly, Orochimaru. I couldn't believe it but I knew it was him, but his pale skin and sly evil smirk, very unique and hard to miss. This was getting very real. Too real.

I looked around to try and confirm where Kankuro, Temari and Gaara were sitting. Gaara was seated near the back, one row in front of Ino Yamanaka whereas Kankuro was in the middle row but off to the side, and Temari was in the same row as Ino. Naruto was also coincidentally two rows in front, should be able to reach him with Suzuki because he has Kurama.

Now about the slimy snake beside me. Honestly I do admire him as a very good villain and the series but he causes a lot of trouble. I can't kill him though because he's a key component on us winning the war against Madara. Speaking of him, he's also one of my favourite villains and I'd love to meet him, so I'm a little excited about it but I know there's a lot of death, I'm also not a main character so I might not even make it til then and get killed off. Oh well, this life has been fun!

"EVERYONE EYES FRONT! There are a few rules we have to go over and you need to be aware of before we begin the first Chunin exam. I won't be repeating this so listen up runts!" The proctor yelled, getting the attention of every genin in the building. When everyone was silent and looking towards the front of the room the Proctor continued. "Alright, first rule, you will be given ten points to begin with, and the written test has ten questions in all. Each 1uestion is worth one point, and the test is a point deduction system. You are deducted one point per answer you get wrong, as an example, if you get three wrong you'll have 7 points in total. The second rule, pass or fail is determined by the total points in the three-person-squad." Everyone began to gasp as Ibiki spoke. Weirdly I felt a glare from behind, just not at me. Turning around cautiously I saw Sakura and Sasuke glaring at Naruto who was shaking with his hands covering his face. Hinata sat beside him with a worried and pitiful look on her face as she looked at Naruto, she was so sweet. Too sweet for this world. Kindness gets a ninja nowhere but dead on a battlefield. Thankfully she doesn't die though.

I drowned out the rest of what Ibiki was saying and began studying Orochimaru curiously but with caution. If he caught me he may be suspicious of me, and that wouldn't get me very far. Maybe I should reveal that I know who he is? Or ask him to meet me alone? He is strong, hell, he's a Sanin, but I'd love to get more information on him as well as gaining his trust. It may even be crucial.

I'll write him a note.

That's a good idea, that way I can speak with him without getting caught and told to leave. Hehe, let's give it a shot.

Tearing a piece of the blank exam paper from the back, I began writing a note for Orochimaru.

Leave a shadowclone and meet me at the training grounds,
I want to talk alone

I wrote the paper just as the exam was beginning so I didn't stand out. No one was intently watching me so I should be fine, as long as I transport myself at the same time as leaving a clone I'll be good. Even if I get deducted points, it doesn't matter because I just need to stay for the tenth question, my clone should be fine.

Slowly but carefully I slid the paper to Orochimaru who turned to face me and snuck the paper over to himself with one of his classic smirks. He's so cool! I couldn't help but fangirl in my head, he might be an Oreopedo but he's still awesome and I love snakes, (I actually have one called Pickles! She is my child).

He glanced over to me and smirked whilst offering a small and discreet nod for affirmation.
