Chapter 24

When we got to phenix I quickly texted carlisle and told him where we were. Bella and I were both stuck in a hotel room alone. I was basically a body gard while Jasper and Alice were out in the lobby.

I sat on the couch while Bella paced back and forth. "bella I'm sure they're fine" I mumbled. She turned to me and crossed her arms. "how are you so calm about this?"

I shrugged. "part me doesn't care and the other part of me knows our boys will be fine"

"how could you not care?" she asked. I sighed and rested my head on the back of the couch. "the awful part is I'm prepared to lose them like everyone else"

"if I lose carlisle I'll also loose the family" I mumbled. I looked down and fumbled with my hands. "what happened to Dean's dad?" bella asked softly.

"he died... At least I think he did" I said. "his name was Stefan and he just disappeared off the face of the earth"

"was he a wolf?" bella asked setting down next to me. "no" I simply said. I later found out he was a vampire two years after he left. I wouldn't tell Bella that though.

Before anything else could be said Alice busted into the room. "Al what's wrong?" I asked standing up.

"she saw something" Jasper said. I took Alice's hand. "what did you see?"

"the tracker took another course and he's on his way to a room full of mirrors" I arched an eyebrow.

"mirrors?" bella's got up quickly. "there's a dance studio I used to go too as a kid"

"here in Phoenix?" Jasper asked. Bella nodded. "okay so that's exactly where we're not going" I said. Before Bella could protest my phone rang. I quickly grabbed it hopping it was carlisle.

"car?"

"not quite"

I sighed and gripped my phone. "James, what do you want?"

"well if you don't want me to touch bella or your little boy I suggest you come to the dance studio alone"

I felt my heart clinch. The thought of Dean getting hurt was my worst nightmare. Bella on the other hand has caused enough problems. I hung up the phone and threw it against the was. Alice and Bella both flinched.

"Ruby what's happened?" Jasper asked. I tuned to him. "go back to Forks and take Bella with you."

"what's happening?" bella asked. I shook my head. "just trust me on this"

"carlisle would kill me if I let anything happen to you" Jasper said grabbing my arm before I could go anywhere.

"I'm fine I'm just gonna take care of James" Alice sighed and wrapped her arms around me. "you cant do it alone. He's stronger than you think"

"well I'm strong enough to kill him especially if he has Dean" Jasper snapped his head towards us.

"hes at the Rez, why would he have Dean?" bella asked. "to get to me" I replied. "I'm gonna settle this and neither of you guys are telling carlisle" I said looking at the three.

"be careful" Jasper said knowing he couldn't stop me.

"I will"
