Chapter 22

Ruby hopped out of the back of Emmett's jeep and quickly slipped on a baseball jersey leaving it unbuttoned showing her captain America shirt.
As she closed the jeep she felt carlisle's arms wrap around her hugging her.
"so since when do vampires play baseball?" she asked Turing in his arms to face him.

"well it's America's past time and we can only play when there's a storm coming" he smiled and placed a baseball cap on her head. Ruby rolled her eyes playfully and grabbed her metal bat. She placed it on her shoulder as she walked towards the girls.

"the woman of the hour has arrived!" Eliot said playful said as he stole the baseball cap that was laying on Esme's head and put it on backwards. Esme chucked and ran over to ruby.

"im glad you and Bella are here she can be unpier" she said putting an arm on Ruby's shoulder.

"she thinks we cheat" Eliot said as he rested his elbow on carlisle's shoulder then pushed him to the ground playfully. Esme rolled her eyes at the two boys. "oh I know you guys cheat" she laughed.

"they're so cute" Ruby responded with a bit of sarcasm as she watched Edward drive up with Bella. "can't live with them, can't live without them" Esme laughed as she ran over to Bella.

The thunder strike as Alice took the ball to pitch. Ruby was up first to bat. She quickly turned her hat backwards and got into position.

"hay Ruby this is a perfect opportunity to tested out your new vampire abilities, how about we make a little wager" Eliot shouted to ruby on the other side of the field.

"whach got in mind old man?" she asked.

"I bet 30 dollars you'll lose this game" he said smirking.

"your on! just don't let the disappointment get to you" carlisle rolled his eyes at his brother and mate.

"it's time" Alice smiled before throwing the ball to Ruby. She swung hard making if fly off into the air.

"can't seem to miss" she laughed as started to run. Eliot and carlisle both had the ball in sight and jumped after it at the same time. The two collided into each other making sound like two borders where crushed together. The two fell onto the the damp grass.

"what? You didn't see that coming?" she asked Eliot in her best sakovian accent. She giggled and continued to run stopping at 3rd base were Emmett was.

"I can do this all day" she laughed and started to jog in place getting ready to make it to home.

Eliot zoomed back to his feet and pointed to Ruby. "one more Marvel reference out of you and I swear" Eliot joked. He quickly chucked the ball back to Alice and then brushed off all the wet grass and dew off his arms and legs.

Emmett laughed as he watched Rosalie about to pitch. She hit a good ball but it was quickly cought and thrown to Esme and bell getting her out.

"your out! Yeah!" Emmett shouted with a little too much excitement for Rosalie's taste. She sent him a death glare and walked back to were Jasper and Carlisle was.

"come on babe it's just a game" Emmett said with a smirk.

The game went on for a while Ruby got carlisle and Eliot out at least twice each and Alice broke a bat. It was going well In till alice got a vision of James and his crue.

"stop! There coming" she shouted as the family all huddled to gather. Edward tried his best to hide Bells sent before the three vampire's showed up. Carlisle quickly turned to Ruby and put his scarf on her trying to mask her sent knowing well she still had human blood running through her.

"here" Emmett said putting his hat on her head before taking the one that she already had. Her original one soaking in her original sent that might get her cought.

"stay behind me and Eliot" he said standing in front of her as Eliot stood next to her. Bella then hovered behind Alice and Edward as the family got ready for what ever they wanted.

"I believe this belongs to you" the dark skinned vampire said throwing the baseball. Carlisle cought with one hand with no problem. "thank you"

Eliot stepped up closer putting on a serious face. He blocked both Esme and ruby ready to fight of one of the three nomads tried to get to the women. This just shows more signs of how different the two brothers are. Carlisle was kind and gentle but also serious while Eliot was childish and had a horrible temper. He was ready to attack the three nomads while carlisle just wanted peace.

"I'm Laurent" he introduced. "and this is James and Victoria"

"I'm Carlisle and this is my Brother Eliot and our family."

"your hunting activities have caused a lot damage for us so cut the crap" Eliot quickly said. Esme grabbed his head and rubbed his arm to calm him down. The last thing they needed was Eliot to start a fight.

"our apologies. We didn't realize this territory had been calmed already" Laurent said calmly.

"we maintain a permanent residence here" carlisle said.

The tree Intruders exchanged looks before laurant looked back at carlisle and Eliot. "really? Well we won't be a problem to you any longer." Eliot only nodded as he crossed his arms.

The red head then decided to speak up. "the humans were taking us, but we led them east so you should be fine"

"thank you" Esme said before her mate or brother-in-law could have a snide come back. She was many worried for what would fall our of Eliot's mouth the most.

"well, would you like three more players?" the family exchanged looks. Ruby slightly shook her head no. "aw come on just one game" Laurant pushed.

Carlisle sighed and gave them a fake smile. "sure why not, some of us were leaving anyways" he threw it to Victoria and she cought it with one hand.

"I'm the one with the wicked curve ball" victoria said.

"we'll see about that" Jasper smiled along with Emmett.

Luarant whooped and cheered as we started walking towards the field. Carlisle put his arm on ruby's  shoulder protectively as he tried to get ruby to Emmett's jeep. We didn't get to far before the wind blew Bella's sent obnoxiously towards James. He got a big wiff and smiled.

"you brought a snack" he charged after but family quickly stood in front of her ready to attack. "the girls are with us" Eliot snapped.

"I can tell the game is over" Luarant said tugging James away. Carlise grabbed ruby's hand and ran to emmtt's jeep as Rosalie and Emmett followed behind and Jasper and Eliot went with Bella and Edward.

James got Bella and ruby's sent and now they had to fight for their lives.
