Chapter 4

"so how did he do this again?" Charlie asked ruby as he looked at the kitchen table where Dean, Bella, and Seth were.

"when he was on his field trip" ruby sighed as she watched bella write her name on Dean's cast. "Dr. Cullen got him all fixed up" ruby didn't know why his name made her blush so much.

"Dr. Cullen is a good man, we're lucky to have such a talented doctor in a small town like this" Charlie said hanging his 'niece' a glass of tea.
"yeah his kids are in some of my classes"

Just then there was a knock on the door. Dean got up and ran around Charlie and pulled the door open. "uncle Jake!" he shouted and hugged the young wolf. Jacob chuckled and picked up Dean and held him on his hip. "hay Jacob" ruby laughed and gave him a hug.

"what did you do to your arm young one?" Billy asked. "fractured it" dean said so innocently. "uncle Jake you want to sign my cast?"

"sure" Jake smiled and sat Dean back down on his feet and ran into the kitchen when jacob behind.

"so how's the teaching job ruby?" Billy asked rolling into the living room where the game was playing on the TV.
"pretty good"

"are they listening to you and respecting you as they should" ruby's 'uncle' Billy asked. "of course, I have some great kids in my classes"

"good" he responded. As their  conversation was cut short her father and mother came in with her sister falling behind. Ruby could tell she didn't want to be there but a smile pulled at her lips when Dean ran up to her and hugged her. If you asked Leah. Her nephew was her world.

Ruby smiled as she noticed most of the food in the house was gone. Not wanting to watch the game she decided to make a food run and go to the collectable store. "dean you want to help momma on a important mission?"

"yeah!" he said jumping up from his seat next to Leah.

After getting the important food items ruby took Dean to the collectors store. The store was full of video games and movies, comics, action figures, and anything else a nerd wants. The mother and son duo were indeed marvel and supernatural geeks. And this is the place they got all the movies and collectables.

"you can pick out one thing since you did good at the hospital yesterday" ruby said Dean was about walk off when ruby called out for him. "don't go too far"

"Kay mom" he said going straight to the back wall where all the funko pops were. Dean looked each line of characters carefully in till his big brown eyes widened on the sight of Bruce banner funko pop he's been looking for forever. It was the one from Thor Ragnarok. He griend and tried to grab it but it was up too high. He huffed getting frustrated that he was short like his mom. He only hoped he'd get a massive growth spert when he phases. He backed up and got a running head start than jumped. He missed it again the only thing he got was a push to the floor and a John walker funko pop fell on his head. He wrinkled his nose in discused seeing the awful character from the falcon and the winter soldier.

He sighed and tried to reach it again. When he did and big hand grabbed it efrtlessly. "need up little guy?" The young boy looked up and saw a tall well built man with black hair. Dean also noticed he had the same gold eyes as the doctor that help his arm.

Dean didn't say a word on looked at him wide eye as the teenage vampire smiled softly and set the Bruce banner pop in the boys good hand. "t-thanks"

"there you are, I said not to go too far" ruby said coming around the corner. She looked up to see who her son was talking too. She immediately smiled. "hello Emmett, nice to see you"

"hay miss. C" he waved as Jasper came up to him with an old western movie in hand. "nice to see you ma'am" Jasper said to his teacher in his southern accent. "it's nice to see you boys"

"ditto, apologies to your kid I didn't mean to scare him" Emmett said rubbing the back of his neck as Dean hid behind ruby and hugged the funko pop box to his chest. "it's okay, he's just shy"

"yeah me and my brother came to get a new video game that just came out and out father likes to see what old movies this place has" Emmett said making conversation with his teacher.

"well hello ruby" a soft familiar voice said behind her. She looked behind her and blushed at the blond doctor. "nice to see you again Dr. Cullen"

A shit-eating grine pulled at Emmett's lips and he started to push Jasper away. Of course the boys new about the hole mate thing. They just needed to wait and let them find out themselves and let it play out.

Dean seemed to calm down at the sight of the blond doctor. He looked up with his chocolate brown eyes and slightly smiled. "hay Dean, hows the arm" carlisle smiled. Dean looked up and had a big smile now. "good, all my buddies signed it and mom drew a really cool captain America shield on it" Dean said holding his red cast out in front of him.

The once plain red cast is now covered in the pack members names and little marvel and supernatural drawings Dean asked his mom to do. Ruby loved to draw and Dean was her number one fan. He always wanted her to draw him something new.

"that's cool" carlisle said crouching down in front of Dean so they were the same Hight. "you want to sign it?" dean asked turning is arm around to the last empty spot. "of course" carlisle smiled and wrote down his name with the pen he had in his pocket.

"I'm impressed" ruby smiled and crossed her arms over her chest. "how so?" carlisle said standing back up so now he towered over the young mother. "dean is usually very shy. He doesn't really talk to anyone, but he happily talks to you" she smiled almost got lost in his golden eyes she's grown to love for some reason.

"well then I feel very lucky" carlisle greined. She was about to say something else when her phone went off. She gave him a polegetic look and looked at the text. It was from Leah asking were they were. "I'm sorry we better get going" ruby said running her fingers through her sons brown hair trying to tame his crazy hair.

"oh no problem" Charlie smiled and put his hands in his pockets. "maybe I'll see you around sometime" ruby said taking a leap of faith.

"I look forward to it" he smiled and looked down at Dean. "bye Dr. Cullen" dean waved with his casted hand. Carlisle smiled at the small boy as the mother and son left to pay for his toy and leave.
