Even after talking with Bob and spending hours painting and thinking, Katya still decided to invite Violet over. She was shaking her leg restlessly, nervous about what the outcome could be. With the help of a call with Bob, Katya promised herself she would finally discuss what had been going on. Which for her, was a difficult task. Katya isn't the most confrontational when it comes to things she cares about. And that's how every problem in her relationship and friendships was kept bottled until she exploded and the other person stood there with raised eyebrows and widened eyes.
But it hadn't happened with Violet, she hoped it never would. Violet always found a way to calm Katya down, helping her to tell apart what was real and what was her anxiety. But this time, Katya was really sure that this wasn't just her anxiety. It's not like her brain can just make up someone not saying I love you back, or being away for a long time. Bob had noticed it as well, she wasn't crazy. This time she had proof, for herself, that this wasn't some weird conspiracy her brain had created. She cracked her knuckles before standing up to open the door.
"Hi Kat," Violet said with her charming smile.
"Hey V," Katya greeted her with a short kiss.
"Is Trixie here?" Violet left her belonging on the couch before sitting down on it.
"No," Katya sat down on the couch, exhaling as her body relaxed. "She's out with Kim or something," She closed her eyes briefly until she felt Violet's fingers brush on her outer thigh.
"So she won't be back until late?" Violet's eyes looked at her with lust.
"I guess," Katya didn't want to do this, she had other plans. She grabbed Violet's hand, moving it away.
"What's wrong?" Violet's brows furrowed.
"I don't wanna fuck, nothing's wrong." Katya shrugged. "Want something to drink? I have diet coke,"
"Yeah," Violet said, and Katya could feel her suspicious stare while she walked over to the small kitchen.
"I'm just not in the mood today," Katya opened the fridge, taking out a can of coke. "I'm tired, I've been painting all day." She pulled out a glass, putting the liquid in it.
"What are the paintings about?" Violet's eyes followed her. "Thank you," She said when Katya handed her the glass.
"You'll have to wait until I present them," Katya smiled, knowing Violet wasn't very patient.
"When is that?"
"The end of the next semester." Katya looked at her with hopeful eyes.
"Katya," Violet looked down the floor, Katya's smile dropped. "I won't be here then, I have to be in Europe again."
"This," Katya frowned.
"What?"
"This is what the paintings are about," Katya shook her head slightly while talking. "About how you have to leave all the time,"
"That's work and you know it Katya, and I try to spend most of my time with you." She rested her hand on Katya's thigh
"Don't bullshit me," Katya pushed the hand away, again. "You come here when you're horny,"
"It's because I miss you, and of course, I'm gonna be horny if I don't see you for a while, Kat."
"But before, even if you did go on trips, it wasn't like this." They looked into each other's eyes.
"What do you mean?" Violet started getting upset.
"You are all distant and shit," Katya breathed in deeply. "Do you love me?"
