Third Person

Santo buried himself deep into the paper work in his desk. He tried to busy himself with every passing minute. A whole weekend had passed since he and Iyesha's last conversation.

The sound of the clock ticking, the slight tapping of his foot, the sound of the birds chirping outside— they all made his nerves rattle. He could not stop Iyesha's words from repeating inside of his head.

The way she sounded so— tired, so sad. The tears in his eyes made him want to say fuck his marriage. The way he had hurt her when he promised he never would.

But he had, and he couldn't change that.

The knock on his office door interrupted him from his thoughts.

"Saint."
Gabriella's voice sounded like nails on a chalk board at the moment. It had irritated him for the past week.

"Come in."
His voice was abnormally strained to her, he sounded a little more distance than usual.

"Are we still going out to pick out flowers for the ceremony?"
It all came coming bad as Saint now remembered his mother was putting together their "official" wedding ceremony. She wanted to make their wedding seem more real, when she knew it was far from that.

"Oh fuck. I totally forgot."
His eyes darted to the clock.

1:58pm.

"Yes. We'll head out soon."
He gave her an insincere smile before she made her way out of the room.

•••••••
They car pulled up infront of Iyesha's shop. Coincidentally.

Saint was paying no attention to their surrounding as he replied to emails on his phone the whole car ride.

Gabriella wasted no time to hop out, leaving Santo behind as she was in awe that beautiful flowers on displace outside of the shop. She was already impressed.

"Welcome! How may I help?"
Iyesha beamed at the woman entering the shop.

She looked like she was not from around here, she stood out. Her features were so foreign— odd even. She would have never thought that the woman in front of her was Santo's wife.

"Yes! I'm looking for centerpieces for my wedding reception. I need something big and bold! I need to scream in style, but old money."
Iyesha could see the light bulb go off in the woman's head.

"You're getting married? Congrats! Well I'll bring a couple of my favorites out to see if you see anything you may like. How does that sound?"
Iyesha asked with a smile.

Gabriella could not help but admire her appearance. The woman in front of her seemed to glow, radiating confidence and beauty.
"Sounds great!"

Just as Iyesha headed to the back, disappearing she heard the door open once more. Followed by a familiar— yet chilling voice.

The hairs on the back of her neck stood up hearing the annoyance and slight anger in his voice. She then heard Luciano snicker.
"Here? Are you out of your fucking mind?"
Santo fussed in a whisper— that wasn't such a whisper. But Gabriella didn't seem to hear.

"Maybe you'll pay attention next time."
Luciano grinned as Santo pushed pass him to stand next to his wife at the counter.

Iyesha couldn't help but piece the whole thing together. Her mood was now on a decline, but she wouldn't let it be known.

"Okay so here we are!"
Iyesha carried out her favorite arrangements, there was about 10.

She could feel his eyes on her. His eyes raked over her frame. Her white sweater showed just the right amount of cleavage. Her bell bottom jeans hugged her figure well, and again that damned apron cinched in her waist, her 22inch, black frontal flowed down her back.  She had exchanged her glasses for contacts. Her rose quartz still hung from her neck. She looked beautiful as always.
