the bus finally took a stop and an array of sighs escaped everyone's mouths as they stuffed their headphones or airpods back into their backpacks.

"finally," ricky exhaled, immediately stretching up. swinging took a toll on the boy's back and sitting down in a cramped bus for two hours straight didn't make it any better.

"right?" gina replied, giving ricky a soft smile. she continued, "and i'm starving, ugh."

ricky chuckled and nodded his head, "same." they all got up from their seats and walked off the bus.

"okay! we'll take a little break here and eat!" mr. roy announced as him and mr. mazzarra made their way inside the restaurant. the two teachers requested a table of eleven people as the rest of the teenagers talked amongst each other.

"how was the bus ride with caswell?" kourtney asked nini. the girl explained her and ej's conversation to kourtney and seb while ricky and red whispered to each other.

"i think gina has a crush on you," red whispered to ricky. the curly headed boy looked at red with confusion.

"there's no way," ricky chuckled, slightly eyeing the girl. gina was rambling something to carlos near them. ricky shrugged his shoulders, "besides what makes you say that?"

red groaned and questioned, "come on, you don't have a spidey sense for those kinds of things?"

the boy gave red a confused look and shook his head, "no, idiot. i don't get spidey senses for when girls like me. it doesn't work like that."

"something doesn't tingle in your brain?" red asked again, making ricky roll his eyes.

before red could pester ricky with another question, the hostess came out and lead the big group to their table. ricky and nini were eyeing each other so they could both sit together. ricky sat down as he saw nini making her way towards him. before the girl could reach the seat, gina sat down next to ricky.

the boy's face fell and nini made her way around the table, across from ricky with a look of disappointment all over her face. seb and kourtney sat next to nini while red sat next to gina. red and ricky exchanged looks before gina could see.

"is it cool if i sit here?" gina asked ricky with a sweet smile. nini's body stiffened.

ricky cleared his throat, nodding his head. "yeah yeah, i don't mind!"

red eyed nini. the girl had a jealous look on her face as she looked at gina with anger. gina could sense nini staring at her and forced an awkward smile at the girl.

"hey nini, i like your outfit today," gina complimented the girl with a sweet smile.

"what was wrong with my outfit yesterday?" nini quickly retorted back. everyone looked at nini with wide eyes as gina awkwardly shifted in her seat.

"uh.. n-nothing? i just uh really like it today," gina stuttered back. nini felt an elbow go into her side and looked up to see kourtney glaring at her. the girl rolled her eyes and forced a sweet smile at gina.

"hah! i was just playing," nini lied with a fake chuckle. gina sighed with relief. nini continued, "thanks! i like yours too!"

gina just nodded her head and looked away from nini's condescending eyes. the girl got up from her seat, "i'm gonna use the bathroom."

ricky watched as nini walked off and quickly got up from his seat, "i'm gonna use the bathroom too," ricky announced before chasing after nini.

the boy grabbed nini's hand once they were in the hallway. nini turned around and saw ricky. "hey! you okay?" ricky asked.
