two months later —

its been two months and the whole world knew that the multiverse was real and that it invaded new york city. it was crazy yet not at the same time.

this was the avengers universe so civilization was pretty much desensitized to anything, ever since thanos came in and wiped out half of the population for five years. there's one bright side of that tragedy i guess.

the first few weeks of school for nini were hard. everyone was staring and talking about the girl but she knew it was going to happen. nini tried her best to ignore them but sometimes she would have to glare at certain people because they stared at her for too long.

"i'm gonna bark at them," nini harshly whispered to ricky. nini eyed the group of girls that were intensely staring and gossiping about her. ricky blocked her view of them and gave nini a stern look.

"no, let's go," he commanded.

"rickyyyy," nini whined.

"don't make me count."

"but—"

"babe," ricky quickly said. nini rolled her eyes and slammed her locker. they made their way out of the school while ricky wrapped his arm around nini.

"you're no fun," she whined once they stepped outside.

"i can be fun?!"

"no way!"

"i can show you fun, baby," ricky confidently said, making nini roll her eyes. ricky scoffed, "jump off the empire state building with me then."

"you're crazy!" nini exclaimed.

"hah, told you."

"i said you're crazy! not that you're fun!" nini teased back once again.

ricky smirked at her.

"RICKY! RICKY! STOP STOP STOP!" nini begged as ricky swung her around the city. she looked down at the city and quickly shut her eyes again.

the boy chuckled, "YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO HAVE FUN!"

"I'M LITERALLY GONNA PEE!" nini blurted out. ricky felt nini bury her head in his chest.

the boy let out a laugh and started to slowly make his way to the ground.ricky found his usual alley and slowly made his way down. when ricky landed, he noticed that nini was still tightly holding onto him. nini's legs were wrapped around his waist and her arms were secured around his neck. ricky rubbed her back up and down and gently whispered to her, "we're on the ground now. you can let go."

nini shook her head and buried her face deeper in his neck. ricky silently laughed to himself, "am i fun now...?"

"i hate you ricky bowen," nini muttered in his neck. she heard him laughing and finally looked at him. she continued, "i nearly peed on your suit."

"telling tony why i needed a new suit would've been hilarious then!"

"you're mean," nini quietly whined. ricky only smiled at the girl and softly kissed her nose.

"only to you," ricky cooed. the girl rolled her eyes and finally dropped her feet to the ground. her arms were still wrapped around his neck as ricky pulled nini in close.

"sometimes i wish you were still lame so i can insult you by calling you a nerd," nini quietly muttered.

"oh? so you think i'm cool now?"

nini looked at ricky with a straight face, "god, i wish that spider bit something else."

"HEY?" ricky exclaimed in shock. nini giggled at her joke and leaned her face closer to the boy. ricky continued, "look who's the mean one now."

"i've always been the mean one though."

"and the hot one!"

nini cringed, "you're so lame."

"only for that split second to satisfy your wishes of calling me lame and nerdy," ricky explained, "are you happy now? you emo little pisces."

the girl shook her head, chuckling at ricky's remarks. nini took in a deep breath as she admired the boy in front of her, "i'm always happy with you," she honestly said.

"this is probably the cheesiest conversation we've ever had," ricky joked.

"i know! i wish you would just shut up and kiss me to end this agony," nini teased, looking down at ricky's lips.

"is it the suit? is the suit making it harder to resist me?"

nini's face fell and she looked away from ricky with embarrassment, "this is gonna be my villain origin story."

"ooo... enemies to lovers?? your favorite," ricky teased again. nini shook her head and eyed the boy.

"then finish the story and kiss me," nini pleaded, inching her face closer to him once again.

"okay, the end," ricky said before he softly placed his lips on the girl.
