Author's Note: Most of this chapter has been taken from the game because these are good scenes and I needed it to be coherent and to match the game (hence why there is dialogue from the game, too); it is deliberate. Thank you.
Jackson, Early Evening
Dina arrives in Jackson and it's much quieter than usual. She wanders down the empty streets and heads directly for the Tipsy Bison. Approaching from the main area, she hears a ruckus coming from inside. Pushing open the door, she is wary of what she would find, but the sight which meets her eyes is a typical brawl.
"Get him! Go on! Knock him out!" one man yells.
"Kick his shins!" a woman screams.
Dina freezes as a glass bottle shatters on the central wooden pillar she is walking past. Avoiding the glass, but getting splashed with the bottle's contents, she shakes her head and tries to get closer to the bar.
There is a roar from one of the brawlers, and the fighting spills out into the onlookers.
Dina ducks from a chair being swung at a guy in front of her and shoves back the person who landed on her, only to accidentally get clobbered in the side of the head by a fist. It made her see stars and she frantically searches for Seth.
"Where the fuck is he?!" she muttered to herself "Maria would lose her shit if she saw this. Hey, hey! Where's Seth?" she yells at a lady, over the top of shattering glass, and exertion grunts. She shrugs.
"Nobody's seen him since he went to the cemetery."
"Is he still there?"
"Why you askin' me for? Do I look like his mother?"
Dina sighs and turns to push her way out of the bar. As she passes the pillar, another glass bottle is thrown in her direction... not necessarily at her, but the bottle impacts and shatters across the side of her head. She clutches at it, to stop the bleeding, slides down the post, out of shock, and sits there on the floor. Suddenly there is a bang as a gun is fired into the air.
"What the fuck is going on here?!" Seth demands.
No one says anything, but the fighting stops. That is until someone decides to get a cheap shot.
"Hey. HEY! Stop. Mary, Alan, what are you doing?"
"He started it." Mary replies, pointing towards Tommy.
"Tommy? What the fuck, man?" Tommy lets go of the collar he is holding and shoves the guy away. Seth marches over to Tommy and glares at him. "You're barred. Get out."
"What?"
"Get! Out!" Seth snarls.
As Tommy walks through the crowd, towards the exit, he notices Dina sitting on the floor, leaning against the post, trying to stop the bleeding. "Hey, who hit Dina?"
Everyone looks at Tommy and Dina.
"I'm fine." Dina lies, wincing.
"Goddamn it, someone get a rag."
A lady leans over the bar to search for something, but Seth, as silently as a doe, wanders through the crowd, grabs the first aid kit and appears by their side. He crouches down and begins to see to Dina. "Tommy..."
"I'm going... Hey, if Ellie finds out about this, one of you is gonna lose their fuckin' fingers, or worse. But, seriously, own up, whodunnit?" He asks, pointing at Dina and the crowd.
"Tommy, I think it was an accident." Mary concludes.
"Yeah, Tommy, I was just caught in the crossfire." Dina responds, still wincing. "Ow, watch it."
