"Peg! Are you okay? Why are you not answering"
I snap out when i realize mum is shaking my hand. I look around the hall and everyone is looking at me. I smile back at my mum as an assurance that I'm fine. I was totally trapped in those gorgeous sexy eyes, looking down at me. My heart beat is increasing, my stomach feels like there's tons of butterflies. I can feel that something is happening in me. Am i in love? This feeling is so foreign; I'm not sure what it is. I can't say what is so different about him that would prompt my first ever normal biological response to another person. However, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone so incredibly beautiful like him before. Not beautiful in pretty boy sense. He has that figure of rough and tough in him, just like how Gwyn describes about him. Not too big, but not at all small. He's perfect.
Before giving him my first smile, there's something odd about the way he reacts when he looks at me that keeps my focus glued to him. It's not romantic or surprised look. An inquisitive look enters his eyes and he slowly shakes his head and turns toward the priest. I can't put my fingers to it, but it's certainly not a pleasant reaction. I'm disturbed, to say at least.
RUDE!!!
Without another minute, I turned toward the priest standing in front of us. But I can't help it. The smell that's travelling my nose, makes my heart swell. He smells divine. Everything about this guy is perfect. I'm being addicted to this man.
STOP!!!
I suddenly recall my Mum's word "Be You". If i'm being addicted to him, it means i'm being his slave as well. It cannot happen. I hold my breath to prevent his smell travelling through my nose and start focusing to the priest.
"Do you, Steve Grant Rogers, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to live together in matrimony, to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?" the priest asked him.
Silence. Complete silence. He didn't answer. It means he's not interested in this wedding? One part I'm glad that i can return home with my parents, be their child and can go back to my village but my major part is begging, pleading and praying for him to say...
"I do" he says as though he just read my mind.
"Perfect. And do you, Margaret Peggy Carter, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?" he ask me.
I glance back at my Dad, who is holding my mum and smiling at me. This is what they want. I need to agree, not for me but for them. I sigh.
"I do" I replied and now I hear him sigh. My head turns towards him, but he refuse to look at me.
"Steve and Peggy have chosen rings to exchange with each other as a symbol of their unending love. By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you both, husband and wife" Everyone stands and starts clapping.
My parents are weeping and so do one old gentleman and i assume he's my father in law. I guess.
"And now, the groom, you may kiss your beloved bride" I was stunned.
He turns toward me without looking into my eyes. What's wrong with him? How is he going to kiss me without even looking at me.
My heart almost explode when eventually he reach forward and grab my hand. I think he might feel my hand is shaking under his. He took my hand towards his lips and kiss it.
OH MY GOD!! Best feelings ever.
He drops my hand and without another second turns toward the priest. Still no eye contact. I turns towards the priest knowing that I'm a wife now.
His wife.

"Congratulations........" Gwyn throws herself and hugs me. "I can't believe you're married. I thought you will be like Mother Teresa the whole life" she laughs and slaps my shoulder. I throw her the most filthiest look.
"That's enough." I said. "You guys force me to do this. So don't tell me it's my decision" I blurt.
"Owh, looks like someone is not in the wedding mood" she said. "Let me make it better. Peg, look at him" she directs me towards Steve, who is standing together with the other soldiers, very far from me. He doesn't even stands with me. People come and congratulate me and my husband is standing miles away from me. I look like a stupid Bobo doll here. Thanks to God that Gwyn is here to company me.
"What's up with him?" I said
"Peg, he's all gorgeous. He look so ....ahhh my heart is so painful to watch you get married to that gorgeous freak" she said
I totally agree with her but still my ego doesn't give up. "He's just moderate, though. Not too gorgeous" I lied. He is DAMN gorgeous. Even I'm in pain.
Gwyn rolls her eyes. "I don't want to stroke your damn ego today since it's your day. Come on, your car is here. Let's see your new home"
My new home! That's it. I'm going to live in my new home with that man standing away from me, no eye contact, no smile or hi or bye. Nothing. Owh, maybe he's dumb. He cannot speak.
Curse you Peg, just now he said I do. He definitely can speak, but just not to you.
We headed to the car waiting outside the wedding hall.
Holy cow!!!
Even his car is perfect. It's Aston Martin. All black and shiny. Full leather and too comfy.
"I will be just behind you in our car, honey. You go first" Mum said.
I already feel that withdrawal. I force a smile and gets in the Aston Martin and so do Steve.
The journey was painfully silence. I look to him in the corner of my eyes. He's just looking outside the view. I turns my head towards my side view when I hear his mobile rings.
He declined the call and put his mobile back into his suit.
I don't know who is that and I'm not ready to ask. The silence fall again throughout the journey to my new home.
To be continued...
