Part 15

It was another one of those silent breakfasts, it was awkward, especially knowing the fact that me and Antonio had just confessed our love the night before.

"Are you guys ok?" Antonio's mom asked breaking the silence, "what do you mean omma? Of course we are" Antonio said with his face super red, "you guys just seem off today" she said, we didn't say anything, "are two dating?" She finally asked, "Omma!" Antonio said, "what I just had to ask!" She replied, both of our faces were super red, I looked at Antonio tying to talk with my eyes, he looked back at me, his eyes said 'do you wanna tell her?' I looked back at him with the 'idk if you want to' eyes, Antonio sighed and grabbed my hand, my face turned so red, "omma" he paused for a second, "idk why you would think that, I would never date Cathy, I mean he face looks like barf, well it's probably because her eyes are literally the color of barf" he said as he let go of my hand, I chuckled softly, I thought it was kind of funny and cute.

June 3, 2005

It was finally summer, we're done with school. It kind of feels weird, I never knew it would be over so fast.

I just came home from school, the last day of school ever. Antonio's mom was in the kitchen going through mail. "Oh Cathalina you have a few letters from some universities" she said as she pointed to some envelopes on the counter. I ran up to open them, "oh are those your rejection letters?" Antonio joked, I elbowed him kind of hard, "shut up" I said. I opened the first one, it was from Stanford university, "ugh damn it!" I said, I opened the second one, it was from Princeton university "ugh!" I groaned.

I opened a few more, all rejected! There was only 2 left, one from Harvard and one from Brown, "I'm just gonna open the one from Harvard" I said, I was so anxious, this is the school I've wanted to go to for so long! Ha! Don't you look like a fool! You really think you could get into a fancy university in America? In your dreams! I just ignored the voice. I read it out loud "Dear Cathalina Bianichi, thank you for your interest in Harvard university. After carefully consideration your application, we are sorry to inform you that we have rejected your application" I said sounding excited but turned to sounding sad, "ugh what am I gonna do!" I groaned "hey don't be sad now you still have one more letter" Antonio said and handed me the last letter. I smiled as I opened it, I read it in my head first, my eyes widened "I GOT IN!" I cheered. We were all so happy! Then Antonio's mom turned to him "when are you gonna get into a fancy university in America?" She asked, Antonio looked kind of nervous and chuckled, "aw I'm just kidding!" She laughed and hugged him.

Me and Antonio have been dating for almost a month now, it doesn't really seem like that though, I mean it's basically the same, we haven't even kissed since that night! Anyways I was getting ready because Antonio had invited me to the movies. I was really excited! I had invited all our friends too, just to make it less awkward. What if he wants to break up with you? The voice was back, I just tried my best to ignore it.

Me and Antonio walked outside to his car, "here you go my beautiful girlfriend" Antonio said as he opened the door for me, I could feel my face go a bit red.

We walked in the movie theater, the smell of popcorn flew through my nose. I looked over and saw Lucia, Carlo, and Aurora, "oh you invited all of friends?" Antonio asked, "yeah I thought it would make it more fun!" I smiled.

We went to go get our tickets "so what movie you guys wanna watch?" Antonio asked "oh let's watch 'house of wax'!" I said happily, "yeah I've been wanting to watch that!" Lucia replied, "yeah looks cool I guess" Carlo replied, "well I guess I'll watch it if you guys want to" Aurora said, "what about you Antonio?" I asked as I turned to him, he looked kind of nervous, "um yeah sure" he replied nervously, "I love horror movies" he said, I've known Antonio for almost 11 years, I of course knew he was lying. "We don't have to watch if you don't want to" I said, "no it's fine, I wanna watch it, it doesn't even look that scary" he said.

We walked up to get snacks, I looked in the glass display of candy, it said €5 "why is it so expensive?" I groaned, "don't worry Cathy, I'll pay for you" Antonio said, "get what ever you want, don't worry about the prices" "aw you're so sweet Antonio!" I replied and hugged him. "When did you guys get so lovey-dovey?" Lucia asked, "what do you mean?" Antonio asked his face going red, "well ever since you guys dated you like don't act like a couple and all the sudden you are" Lucia replied, "well I just wanted to be a good boyfriend" Antonio replied his face still red.

It was about 20 minutes into the movie, it was getting so good! At least I thought so, I looked over at Antonio and he looked scared out of his mind, "hey I need more popcorn" Lucia said, "oh I'll go get some" Antonio quickly replied, I think he just wanted to get out of there, "I'll go with you" I said as I stood up.

We walked out of the room and I grabbed Antonio's hand, I wanted to act more like a couple with him, he luckily held my hand too, his hand was so soft, his grip was so firm yet so gentle.

"So how are you liking the movie?" Antonio asked, "it's really good so far" I replied, "that's good" he said, "I'm glad you're in joying it" he mumbled. Antonio paused for a second, "um Cathy?" He said, "yeah" I looked at him and smiled, "I really invited you to..." he said but paused, this is it he's gonna break up with you. It's so sad you didn't even last a month, well I guess it was never gonna work out from the beginning, the voice said, my heart started racing thinking about what he was gonna say. He got closer to my face, "I really want to act more like a couple" he said as his face turned red, I could tell he wanted to kiss me but I was to scared and I backed away from him.

We got back to our seats and it was kind of a scary part. I could tell Antonio was scared so I grabbed his hand, he really was scared because he held my hand really tightly.

When the movie was over, it had started raining, "well guess I'm gonna go it's getting late" Lucia said, "yeah I got to get home too" Aurora said, "bye little sis" Carlo said and gave me a hug, then he turned to Antonio "hope you get some tonight" he said, both our faces turned super red "CARLO!" I said "I'm just joking" he laughed as he walked away.

"It looks like it started rain more than before" Antonio said "and it's freezing" I replied shivering, Antonio put his jacket over my shoulders, I looked at him blush and smiling. "Race you to the car!" He said and started running, I ran and yelled "wait up" as I laughed.

And there we were racing to the car in the rain, laughing, like little kids. I was so happy, I felt so nice inside, it was a feeling I could barely describe, I think it was the feeling of love.

We both jumped in the car, "haha beat ya!" Antonio laughed, I was wiping my tears I was just so happy, "are you alright?!" He said kind of surprised "yes I'm fine" I said "it's just I'm so happy!" I smiled. Antonio smiled and paused, he was probably thinking about me backing away from the kiss. "Are you not cold?" I asked "your really wet" "I did get pretty soaked, I'm ok though" Antonio said as he ran his fingers through his fluffy black hair, "are you sure?" I asked, "yeah I'll just turn on the heater" he said as he turned the key. "What about you?" Antonio asked, "I'm fine, you're coat is really warm" I replied. Antonio's coat was really warm, it was so cosy and it had his sweet, flowery woodsy smell of that cologne he always wears.

"Here you need your coat back" I said, "no I'm really alright" Antonio replied, "b-but" I said, "as long as you're warm" he said, "I want you to keep it" he said as he smiled. I smiled back at him and got close to his face and we kissed, we kissed for quite a bit, his lips were so soft and warm and his gentle touch cupping my face, it was so nice.

We stopped kissing and Antonio said "I really do like kissing you" I giggled a bit "I like kissing you too" I replied.

And that's when I finally accepted it at last, I was in love Antonio.
