When Melody came back into the control room, she had her vortex manipulator wrapped around her wrist. She was holding a strange looking bottle too. She typed in coordinates as she spoke to the people observing her.
"I need to get this thing-" she waved the bottle up and down "-to my father. You just stay here and you'll be fine."
"No." Amy said and put her hand on the vortex manipulator. "If you're going to where The Doctor is, I'm coming too."
"Me too." Rory said approaching them. He put a hand on the vortex manipulator too.
"No, you're not." Melody said.
"Yes they are. And we too." Yin said. She and Yang did the same as Amy and Rory had.
"So are we." Ella and Frank said.
"And I." Hawk said. Everyone had their hands on the manipulator now.
"Oh god, he is so going to kill me for this." Melody said and then pushed a final button. They dematerialized and materialized again in some sort of underground corridor. Everyone removed their hands from the manipulator and began to look around when the Doctor came running. He stopped in his tracks when he saw them.
"Oi, I didn't tell you to bring them!" he said to Melody.
"It's not my fault! They wouldn't let me do it by myself." she answered, hands on her hips.
"So what have you've been up to." she asked.
"Well, right now I'm being chased by Madame Kovarian and about 500 soldiers are trying to kill me. You?" he said, then looked back from where he had come. A distant sound of feet running approached them slowly.
"Not that much, passed out. I've got the ego quasi vitis you wanted." Melody said.
"Good, exactly what I needed." The Doctor kissed his daughter's forehead.
"I've got a feeling we've got to run now." Rory said casually.
"Yup." the Doctor answered.
"Everybody ready?"
River's friends, though confused, nodded. Although they didn't really know what was going on, they trusted this Doctor.
They started to run, the Doctor in the lead. Behind him were Melody, then both the Ponds. Behind them were everyone else who struggled to keep up. Eventually, the Doctor opened a door and gestured to them that they should enter.
"So, here's the plan. I'll be outside here, as our bate. As soon as Kovarian comes close enough Rory will jump out and attack Kovarian, and while she's distracted Amy will take this syringe and inject it in Madame K's arm. You can leave the rest to me." he explained.
"I don't really know how this works, actually." Amy started.
"I bet you're the only one who actually knows how it works." Melody said.
"Therefore, you should inject it. I'll be the bate."
"No, it's too dangerous! I am not going to let you risk you're life."
"And I am not letting you risk yours. Amy, on my shout, attack Kovarian." Melody said, and before the Doctor could protest, she was outside. He was about to drag her in again, but just then Kovarian showed up.
"Hello Melody! What a pleasure to see you here." she said, a creepy smile on her face. Melody got chills on her back. Usually, she played brave, but as she was the bate, she let her expression be terrified. The woman in front of her seemed to fall for it.
"Where's your father?" she asked, approaching Melody. Melody backed away.
"I don't-" she started.
"Don't lie to me, my dear Melody. You know the consequences." Kovarian was nearly standing beside the door, all she had to do was to walk a few steps and then Amy would be able to reach her.
All of a sudden, Madame Kovarian lunged at Melody, who screamed. Just then, Amy ran against Kovarian with such force they were both knocked to the floor. Amy held her down as the Doctor injected the red looking substance from the syringe. Kovarian tried to get away, and although she scratched up Amy's arms, Amy wouldn't budge. She'd liked to do more than just sit there. That woman had destroyed her life. She would be glad to get the opportunity to scratch her eyes out. But instead she just sat there, giving Kovarian a stare filled with hatred.
As the Doctor injected the substance, Madame Kovarian went still. Amy got away from her, and when she did the woman stood up. She didn't try to run away though, which was a good sign. The Doctor looked at her. Her expression had no kind of emotion.
"I need your help. My wife is dead if you don't remove her memory wipe." the Doctor said. Madame Kovarian started walking. The Doctor, the Ponds, Melody and River's friends followed her. She went straight to her office where she sat down in front of her computer and started typing in several commandos. The Doctor looked at the screen over her shoulder.
"She's deleting all data. It seems like that's the only way of doing it. In deleting it all, the program which keeps her memory's hidden will collapse in on itself. All data it contains will be freed, and Rivers memories will go right back to where they should be." the Doctor explained. The next second, some sort of alarm went off. A voice was heard through the speakers.
"System collapsing." it said on repeat, echoing through the corridors. A rumble was heard, and the room they stood in shook violently.
"What the hell is happening?" Frank shouted over it all. "The entrance to this place is at the third floor." the Doctor answered.
"So?" Frank asked.
"The corridor leading down here isn't steep enough. We're several meters underground. The computer is simulating the way here."
"I don't understand." Yin said.
"The system is going down, and all of these tunnels are going to collapse in on themselves." the Doctor said. "We're basically going to get crushed if we stay."
"Let's go then! We could use that thing!" Ella shouted, pointing at Melody's vortex manipulator.
"It's built to transport one person at a time, max two! When we all went together it drained its battery." Melody said. The room shook again.
"We've got to run!" the Doctor said. Then they were of. They ran down many corridors before they decided they were lost. With the tunnels collapsing, that wasn't exactly a good thing.
"Wait! I've got a map!" the Doctor shouted over the never stopping alarm.
"So you could get us out of here?" Hawk asked hopefully. "Yeah, if I only knew which way to hold it..." the Doctor tried to decide where they were and where they were supposed to be going.
"This way!" Melody shouted, realizing they hadn't got that much of time. She chanced at a direction, and ran against it. Bits of the ceiling were tumbling down now. Melody hoped that they would be fast enough to get out, but with no clue of where they were and where they should be going, the odds were not in their favour.
