Sad Reality

After a few days Severia woke up in the infirmary to see that the most unexpected person was sitting beside her bed on the chair.

"Thank God you are awake"said the person.

Severia tried searching for her wand but didn't found it beside her.

"It's here"Said Snape and gave her the wand.

Severia flicked the wand and golden words emerged from it.

"What happened to me?Why am i in the infirmary?"The words said.

"Well you were found unconcious after your detention with Umbridge and Mr Potter brought you here...you were out for a few days"Snape said.

"How do you feel?"he asked.

"I don't know"Severia flicked her wand.

"The results are here Severus"Pompfrey said and Severus nodded and left the side of a sleeping Severia.

"What does it say?"Severus asked.

"She is suffering from VSD.In muggle world it is known as having a hole in her heart.Their is a hole (defect) in the wall (septum) that separates the heart's lower chambers (ventricles) and allows blood to pass from the left to the right side of the heart. The oxygen-rich blood then gets pumped back to the lungs instead of out to the body, causing the heart to work harder.......She will have to undergo a surgery if she was in the muggle world but I think we need too admit her to St.Mungus as this is out of my bounds Severus"said Pompfrey.

Severus was still for a moment staring at the pale thin girl sleeping on the hospital bed.She was suffering from something so fatal why??.... Hasn't the girl already faced a lot of hardships since she was a baby??Was Voldemort not enough of a death threat that now she is suffering from a heart disease so fatal she could die??

She has not even lived her life yet,she is just a 14 year old mute girl trying to survive in a world all alone,she can't talk to her only family her brother because of everyone knowing of her existence.Was'nt all this enough that now she was suffering more.

Severus sat on the stool beside her bed and held her small pale hand in his and stared at her face.She looked to peaceful while sleeping.How will she react when she knows that she is suffering from a fatal disease?

Severia woke up during dinner time and again found Snape sitting beside her.Has he not left yet or he came back just now?Why is he being so caring towards me?
She thought.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Harry,Ron and Hermione came in,Harry held a tray in his hand.

"We brought you some dinner"Hermione said moving towards her bed.

The trio looked at Snape in confusion as to what was he doing here Snape just rolled his eyes.

Severia gave them a small smile as she didn't had her wand.She looked at Severus and he sighed and gave her his wand.

"Where is my wand?"words emerged from the wand.

"With Madam Pompfrey"he said and she nodded.

"You should have some dinner"Ron said and Harry kept the tray in front of her.

She saw the tray with some roasted chicken,Rice,some veggies and a muffin.

She was about to eat when she saw Severus and again took his wand from his hand and flicked it to get words out of it.

"Professor have you had your dinner?"the words said.

Severus was shocked for a moment as nobody has ever cared for him,or ever asked him had he had his meal.This girl even when she is ill is looking out for him.
